Yes. Whatever happens, God has His own plans for His own beloved, which means us. Whether all the news is nonsense, or there is great trouble directly ahead and even close at hand, God is in charge of us. Live or die, we belong to Him.

On another note: Last year this time I became very ill. I so much wanted a turkey dinner, and was too ill to make it. The illness increased until the end of November when I landed in ICU for three or four days with one of the biggest DVTs the doctors had ever seen, extending from the center of my left calf clear to my navel. I was still very sick after returning home. Never did get a turkey dinner, Thanksgiving, Christmas, or any other time.

Today there is a turkey in the oven. Multiple reasons. I'm afraid to wait til Thanksgiving, concerned about getting sick again. All the news makes me want to feel extra-secure at home right now, and a turkey dinner certainly enhances that feeling. Also because I am well enough right now to do the cooking, which is not always the case. I am just coming off high-dose prednisone for a lupus flare, and still have a little of the "good health" feeling from that.

I'm just so thankful to God for all He does. I often say "Thank God for God" because I mean it. I couldn't get through this life without Him, His direction, His protection, the fact that He knows the future and will prepare us today for that future if we let Him.

By the way, DVT is Deep Vein Thrombosis - a blood clot.
