Ice Cream, as others have said, prayers are going up for you. Now is the time for you to take deep breaths and calm yourself. Being frantic invites more upset. Breathe deeply, and just listen. God may wish to speak to you in some way - do you have a Bible? This is a good time to read it. Focus on the Word of God, not on your troubles. God made certain promises to us - read them - enjoy your Bible, and remain calm. Agitation serves only to upset yourself more, and bring more problems and issues.

We do understand, and we are praying for you. Are you praying? Are you asking your Heavenly Father for answers? Are you praying in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ? Remember, He hears you as clearly as He hears the rest of us.

Deep breaths, your Bible, and having faith. There are the answers for the moment. Take them in, believe them, relax and let God be God, in charge of all things.

Tiger1, glad to know your daughter has only a cold, though they can be so horribly miserable. Hope she will drink a lot of fluids and rest.

Really sorry to know your mother must be moved to a facility so far away from you - that's sad. Is it possible for you to have her put on a waiting list for a facility near you? Maybe she could have the first space that comes available when someone is discharged.

Girl, you really need to be taking care of you! How is your mouth today? Still miserable, or better now? You need a lot of rest yourself - so much weight has fallen on your shoulders recently. Now you are likely to catch what your daughter has. Remember not to use the same towels. Might even use gloves to remove glassware and such from her room to the kitchen. Have masks? Have to protect yourself or you won't be able to visit your mother at all!

The little girl, Julia, was still fighting as of last post late last night...I was trying to stay awake as her mom posts late in the evening...prayers still going up as for Tiger and others...love you all!

My lower jaw is a bit sore, but not too bad today. My daughter is miserable. She hates to miss work, but she really needs to stay home tomorrow to get some rest.As for the germs, well, just being in the same house and breathing the same air I am sure will infect me. The price of motherhood, the kids get sick and pass it on to you, LOL !

The situation with my mother and the transfer was just horrible. She was screaming and yelling, and being her usual mean self. She was not quite with it today, but enough with it to give everyone the most horrible time she could.She carried on so badly, everyone was staring at us the whole time she was wheeled from the 5th floor to the transfer ambulance at the entrance.She was really after me, big time, constantly telling me to shut up and several other things.

Then, she DEMANDED my old beat up taking the dog out gloves, and I refused.It probably made me look bad to the entourage of nurses and the paramedic, but there was a good reason behind it.Everything I have bought her over the years, whether it was a microwave, wheelchair, clothing, etc, she has always made me take it back saying it was junk, or gave it or threw it away. This includes things she TOLD me to buy for her, like the wheelchair.
The last straw came a couple of years ago. I had just bought a warm fall jacket for myself, an Echo Red brand. It had fleece lining and was nice and warm. I wore it to church. I went over to her house after church, as usual. As soon as I came in the door, she took a look at my jacket, and demanded that I give it to her, as she had nothing like that so warm and nice to wear.She shamed me into having it over, even though every closet in her house is packed with her clothing,shoes, and coats, most of them with the price tags still on.
To make a long story short, my mother never wore that jacket, she gave it to her home health aid to give to her granddaughter !

Whoaaa! I'm so sorry you are dealing with such a sweetie! Is she like this most of the time? Dementia has components of anger - perhaps she needs to be in a facility now where people can handle her and the family isn't being verbally assaulted?

Did you get another warm jacket for yourself after she took yours to give away? Don't agree to give her anything off your body again, please. She has a cruel streak which seems aimed at you, unfortunately. She will be ashamed some day, when she learns all the time you have given up for her, all the prayers you have sent up, everything you have done. It will be on her. Her behavior makes me angry for you. I hope she cannot help it.

Do not give another thought to the looks from people when you refused to give her your gloves. They don't know the story, and it isn't their business. With the way she was throwing a fit, I think they were just hoping for anything that would silence her, even your old gloves. Don't give it another thought.

Wear your poorest clothes when you visit h er - the things you would paint in, garden in, whatever you have that's unpleasant. Give her the shirt off your back then! Have a warm nice coat in your car waiting for you.

Ask her doctor if she has dementia.

Hi my friend

He had been referred to the thoracic surgeon for possible bypass surgery. The thoracic surgeon wanted to have a CT scan with contrast done to determine if he could even offer bypass surgery, depending on the calcification of his arteries. Incidentally during that scan a pulmonary nodule in his upper lobe was found as well as several enlarged lymph nodes, and emphysema. And a soft tissue density in his anterior mediastinum. Among other findings. The lung stuff is brand new. The heart stuff has been ongoing (as far as doctor-involved) since September.

But you're right. They have to make sure his lung findings won't interfere with possible bypass surgery. I'm such a worried mess.

His pulmonary consultation will be this Friday so hopefully we'll have some answers. : )
