So many of us here on this thread are really going through a lot of bad things. Our Faith will sustain us !

FYI: Youngest daughter stayed home from work today. Her cold is a real whopper ! :(

My brother Kenny is going to the Rehab place this morning to check on my mother and to sign admission papers if she refuses to do so. He has medical power of attorney for her, so he is the official signer if my mother refuses to cooperate, which we know she will not cooperate in any way, shape, or form. I am sure she has caused trouble there already, and probably has already shown her racist attitude for all to enjoy(sarcasm). I am staying away for a few days. I need to download, take care of my sick daughter, and try to get things done here.

Even though her family went through a rough time during the Depression, she is the only one in her family that has an attitude.From what I understand, she has always been this way, even as a child, even BEFORE the Depression.

I have received numerous calls from the Rehab facility since last night. My mother is refusing to sign anything, not cooperating with anything, and there is nothing I can do about it.

The past is the past. What you do with the present, is what counts. I have prayed for my mother, and will continue to do so.

It is so hard! It wont stop I just want this to end!

....I sent Cuomo an email about it. It’s a shame and a disgrace.

Tiger1, you were NOT ranting - you were helping us to understand the situation so we know more about what to pray for. Don't hold back - Lord knows you need support for what is really going on there!!

You will be rewarded for continuing to do the right thing for your mother, despite her treatment of you. That shame is directly on her. To admit she used you as a scapegoat is awful, especially since that did not make any change.

Sorry your daughter is so miserable. A doctor told me once that a cold will last a week and a half if treated by a doctor, and ten days if not treated by a doctor. :)

Glad you are staying home a few days, and thrilled that your brother has medical power of attorney over your mother. She may need to be in a dementia facility where they can handle her tantrums and revolting behavior.

You take care of you for a few days - you deserve it! Do nice things for yourself - things a loving mother would do for you, things all of us here would do for you if we could be physically present where you are.

Leave it all in your brother's hands for now. Let him be in the forefront of dealing with her. Why are they calling you? Ask them to call him, as he has the power to do whatever is needed. You do not need this harrassment, which is what it is becoming. This is your time off, to heal, rest, see to your own home and family. Brother can take over.

My brother Kenny is not home much, has no answering machine, no cell phone, and no computer, only a house phone. He going to therapy for his injuries from when he fell off the ladder, still has only partially functioning guts since the re-connection surgery after the cancer treatment, and is working part time as an sports score keeper(he really needs the money, cancer is expensive). So, they repeatedly call him, no answer, so they start calling me. :(

We are supposed to get heavy snow and single digit temps here starting tomorrow, so there is no way I am going to do the drive in the next few days to go to the Rehab place and visit with my mother. :(

My lower jaw is a bit sore, but not too bad today. My daughter is miserable. She hates to miss work, but she really needs to stay home tomorrow to get some rest.As for the germs, well, just being in the same house and breathing the same air I am sure will infect me. The price of motherhood, the kids get sick and pass it on to you, LOL !

The situation with my mother and the transfer was just horrible. She was screaming and yelling, and being her usual mean self. She was not quite with it today, but enough with it to give everyone the most horrible time she could.She carried on so badly, everyone was staring at us the whole time she was wheeled from the 5th floor to the transfer ambulance at the entrance.She was really after me, big time, constantly telling me to shut up and several other things.

Then, she DEMANDED my old beat up taking the dog out gloves, and I refused.It probably made me look bad to the entourage of nurses and the paramedic, but there was a good reason behind it.Everything I have bought her over the years, whether it was a microwave, wheelchair, clothing, etc, she has always made me take it back saying it was junk, or gave it or threw it away. This includes things she TOLD me to buy for her, like the wheelchair.
The last straw came a couple of years ago. I had just bought a warm fall jacket for myself, an Echo Red brand. It had fleece lining and was nice and warm. I wore it to church. I went over to her house after church, as usual. As soon as I came in the door, she took a look at my jacket, and demanded that I give it to her, as she had nothing like that so warm and nice to wear.She shamed me into having it over, even though every closet in her house is packed with her clothing,shoes, and coats, most of them with the price tags still on.
To make a long story short, my mother never wore that jacket, she gave it to her home health aid to give to her granddaughter !

Thank you LS for doing a thread on this. I was hoping someone would. I really did not have the time to watch over a thread today.

Prayers for all, especially for Tiger1, Ice Cream and this precious, precious baby, fighting for her life. Dear God, we ask a miracle for her - please miraculously remove the tumors which have now grown and metastasized - take them all away, please, that the glory be all Yours and the world see the power of prayer and faith. Amen

I usually delete posts with cursing in them but not this time.

I cried this morning all I could do to get to work and had no time left to make link..so I did it tonight .....praying for you also you have been thru so much!
