I've read the Bible. I went to Catholic grade school. I grew up in a Catholic household with a grandmother who said the rosary every night. She died a horrible death of dementia and all those prayers didn't seem to help her at all.

I read the Bible again in college in a class that taught the Bible from a historical perspective.

I have studied world religions, comparative religions, many flavors of woo and new age, metaphysics, and never once did any of it spark any sense of faith that there was a creator of any kind. If there is a creator, what is the point of our existence, of my existence, of anything? Why the switch from law to grace? Why am I here? If there is a purpose, why is that purpose hidden?
