Need prayers for my dad. He is 87 yrs. old and soon to be 88.

He is down to one good artery supplying his heart and the doctors told him he needed to restart his statins, a few months ago, along with taking medications that will increase the ejection fraction in his heart.

So he has been on statins for about three months now and within the last few weeks he has been acting like an Alzheimer's patient off and on. However, he has been hiding this from me. So, last night he left my house and seemed fine. However he got lost in our little neighborhood and could not find his way home. This went on for about 20 minutes and he was terrified. Keep in mind I live only about 1/4 mile from him and he has traveled this route for the past 25 years.

He did not tell me but told my sister this morning. She asked him why he did not call me and it was because he forgot my phone number. He calls me all the time so that is strange too.

So according to my sister, this has started happening to him for the past few weeks. I really think this is statin related because Alzheimers and dementia does not run on his side of the family, but heart failure does. The scary thing is, if this is not related to statins then I am in for a whopper of a decision making process and I really don't know what to do.

Please pray that this is statin related and not Alzheimers. Also pray for healing for him. He is the most giving / loving man ever, and taught me how to be the same by his example.
