Husband Update.

I am home for just a few minutes longer, had to take the dog out, etc. I will be going back to the hospital.

Roy is terminal. The lung cancer has spread to the lymph nodes and possibly other areas.It will be up to him as to what he wants to do. With or without treatment isn't going to make a difference at this point, as it has gone too far, and with his underlying health conditions, it is a no win situation.

Today was one of the hardest days of my life, even though I knew it was coming. To have to tell my daughters that their Dad was terminal, was a horrible thing.They all went nuts. My oldest said she would give up her apartment and everything and move in with us to help take care of him, and I told her to stay put, as she is less than 2 blocks away and can come here in a couple minutes, if needed.The middle daughter is across the alley, and the youngest still lives with us.

So, there is much to decide and much to do, medically, legally,spiritually, and emotionally.Roy has 2 adult children from previous marriages,who have no contact with him. He hasn't talked to his son in 25 years. His son went white racist/skinhead years ago, and Roy told him he would not tolerate that. Roy's daughter is too wrapped up in her upper class world and pursuing the almighty dollar, and has had no time for him.

Roy raised my daughters, and they love him. Even though Roy isn't their biological father, he IS their Dad ! Their biological dad died years ago from non-hodgkins lymphoma.
