1 Chronicles 1:27Abram; the same is Abraham.

Job 37:2Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth. 3 He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth. 4 After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard. 5 God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend. 6 For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength. 7 He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work. 8 Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places. 9 Out of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north. 10 By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.11 Also by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud: 12 And it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth. 13 He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy. 14Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.
Isaiah 1:21 How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers. 22 Thy silver is become dross, thy wine mixed with water: 23 Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them. 24 Therefore saith the Lord, the Lord of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies:

The faith of Abraham is what the Lord is calling upon today. This man listened to a call to go where he did not know. Issac, his long awaited son , God said give Him back and Abraham obeyed but God stopped him.
“Genesis 22:12And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me. “

We are not called to do what Abraham was about to do except Spiritually, Jesus became our sacrifice. The fear Abraham had for God is what Jesus told us to always have. That kind of faith and fear was gone in the time of Isaiah. An enemy of the Lord has always been those that weaken faith and remove fearing Him. Job 37 is to remind every generation how and why God corrects. To think we do not need correcting is to be those in Isaiah 1 loving our worldly gifts and rewards...
