The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
Tornado Watch for portions of

south central Texas

Effective this Tuesday morning from 315 am until 1000 am CDT.

Tornadoes... hail to 1 inch in diameter... thunderstorm wind gusts
to 70 mph... and dangerous lightning are possible in these areas.

The Tornado Watch area is approximately along and 120 statute
miles east and west of a line from 70 miles west northwest of
Temple Texas to 85 miles southwest of Junction Texas. For a

Remember... a Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for
tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
and possible warnings.

Discussion... tstms developing in low level warm advection regime
over The Hill Country will have the potential for low level
rotation/isolated tornadoes given increasingly moist ssely llj and
moderate WSW mid level flow. In time... storms may focus invof
shallow front expected to become quasistationary from near jct ENE
to near act. Slightly elevated storms N of the boundary may pose a
threat for hail/locally damaging wind. Farther S... more
isolated/possibly severe storms expected to move ENE during the next
few hrs from the TX Big Bend to near jct.

Aviation... tornadoes and a few severe thunderstorms with hail
surface and aloft to 1 inch. Extreme turbulence and surface wind
gusts to 60 knots. A few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 500.
