Apple is finally going to close Beats Music in a bid to push people towards its own Apple Music streaming service.

Beats Music was set up by rapper Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine, and Apple bought the brand in 2014.

The California-based tech giant will pull the plug out Beats Music on 30 November when all subscriptions to the service will be cancelled.

Apple is encouraging subscribers to move their profiles to its own music subscription service, Apple Music, which launched in June.

Apple bought Beats Music in June 2014, with the $3bn acquisition by far the most expensive in Apple's 38-year history.

At the time Apple Boss Tim Cook revealed the deal, he said: 'We have known these guys forever, we've dated, we've gone steady and now we are getting married.'

The closure of Beats Music comes less than six months after Apple launched Apple Music.

I am sometimes frustrated by my Android's lack of connectivity with my vehicles audio electronics (gm) and consider the move over to Apple to ensure compatibility. Then stories like this surface and I am reminded why I absolutely hate Apple's mobile business model and product offering.
