Appears to have been felt in at least 6 states so far that's been reported.

EDITED TO ADD: The earthquake area does cross over into South Central Kansas and are considered, at least in my opinion, to be part of the larger swarming area that goes from South Central Kansas into North Central Oklahoma.

Based on the chart I posted originally on November 20, 2015, the uptick in earthquakes in South Central Kansas and North Central Oklahoma began in 2009.

EDITED TO ADD: Here is a smilie representing all the earthquakes in South Central Kansas and North Central Oklahoma since 2009, the year we began to see an uptick in earthquakes for this part of the county.

Minor quake damage reported at Wichita facilities

"Some City of Wichita facilities were damaged in two overnight earthquakes, which were centered in Oklahoma.

Director of Public Works Alan King says city workers have found several cracks in buildings. Patrol East had a crack in the cement floor. There were cracks in the walls at some other buildings, as well.

. . .

City workers are inspecting bridges as a precaution."

Wichita activates earthquake response plan after Oklahoma quakes

"Wichita has activated the Earthquake Response Plan.

'Yes, we have an earthquake response plan,' says Joe Pajor, Wichita’s Deputy director of Public Works. 'We have had three locations impacted overnight with our water pipes.'

Pajor says they are sending out earthquake response teams to look for damage.

City Public Works Director Alan King says damage has been found.

'One of our pump stations buildings had some cracks in the wall. Nothing that looks like at this point that we think would cause a problem with the building continuing to be occupied and used,' says King.

The Wichita Police Department’s East patrol station has a new crack in the cement floor from overnight.

Earthquake damages Hutchinson homes
Shaking caught by Wichita liquor store surveillance camera

"It's the largest earthquake felt in Kansas in nearly five years. The 5.1 magnitude quake centered near Fairview, OK at 11:07AM and was felt as far away as Kansas City.

People in the Wichita area say earthquake was the strongest they've ever felt.
And two families in Hutchinson say it caused cracks in their walls and ceilings.

. . .

The shaking from the earthquake was felt across Kansas, and it had businesses in Wichita worried too.

Boxes and bottles shaking at Cocktail Time Wine and Spirits was caught on the store's surveillance cameras Saturday morning."

[link to www.kwch.com]

Wichita reports damage from 5.1 magnitude quake felt across Kansas

"Wichita city leaders say there is damage.

“'We did find that some of the cracks that were caused by the last earthquake had gotten a little bit bigger,' says Alan King, Director of Public Works & Utilities.

King says the city’s earthquake response team, consisting of about a dozen engineers and inspectors, was dispatched an hour after the earthquake.

. . .

Wichita city leaders say last time there was a strong earthquake in Oklahoma, there was damage to city infrastructure. In that earthquake event the city had multiple broken water main lines, some damage to water holding tanks and even some buckling in the floor of a Wichita Police Substation.

King says they found that some cracks from the last earthquake did expand, but no major damage was found during their initial assessment.

The earthquake response team will go back out Tuesday morning and do a more thorough inspection, even for fairly small damage.

. . .

Haysville resident Bruce smith has lived in Kansas for two years, after spending most of his life in Los Angeles, California.

Smith was surprised by the strength of today’s earthquake.

. . .

The temblors are the latest in a series of earthquakes some say are linked to the injection of wastewater underground from oil and gas production.

The quake is the strongest yet felt in south central Kansas."

Still nothing on USGS. I thought my dresser headboard was going to topple over on top of me in bed. I know there had to have been something. I also heard a decorative statue fall off the back of my toilet in the bathroom and then found the stuff on top of my entertainment center when I came into the living room. I then looked out the window and saw someone standing outside, so I think they felt it too.

It probably was I have noticed that they never want to say 5 or above in our area. But, you can bet with all the fracking and fault lines we have it can get up there. This one was felt by everyone it seems that has never happened before in my memory.

I agree. I was actually scared because I thought the heavy headboard on my dresser was actually going to fall on top of me in bed. I've never seen this much in my apartment after an earthquake before. I'm going to take pictures of my entertainment center and upload it here. You can see how heavy it is and there is stuff knocked over on top of it.

This is an older entertainment center and is very, very heavy.

It acutally shook so violently that it spilled the rose scented warming oil.

I've always suspected you were into "heavy entertainment" TrustnooneKS chuckle

But seriously, it must be really frightening. If this is happening on a regular basis, it will damage the foundations of your apartment (block). I know those living in the North of my country have similar quakes from nearby fracking. They've managed to get production reduced by protesting against it and some compensation is being paid to owners of damaged homes. So make sure you check premises for even hairline crack in brickwork etc.

Yeah, my wild side has come out. chuckle

There are hairline cracks in the walls up by the ceiling. We get them everytime one of these happens and they are spreading and getting more numerous. I live on the 3rd floor of an apartment, so not sure that I can get compensated, but the apartments should look into it.

At least I'm not in the basement level anymore. That really used to scare me because I knew I could have 3 levels come down on me if the building gave way. I moved to a top level apartment in the same complex about a year and a half ago and we also were getting those hairline cracks in the walls near the ceiling in that basement apartment too from the earthquakes we were having back then. In fact, I think I posted pictures of them in another thread from that apartment a few years ago when we had a 5 something that actually was in Kansas.

Wondered if anyone else felt it, but I'm all the way up closer to Manhattan. Felt like a gentle rocking of the boat (which set my motion sickness off and why I'm up later than I should be). Last time it happened was when a 4.7 happened a further east in Oklahoma a year or so back. Makes you wonder just what is going on over there (I'm sure it's fracking but...whats going to happen in the long, is it going to become a giant sinkhole, volcano suddenly going to pop out, mole man invasion task force erupt?)

I saw one report of it being felt in Kansas City on KWCH's Facebook page. It really has me wondering too what is going to happen future-wise. I'm sure you are right that it's fracking, but they sure do seem to be getting stronger and more violent lately. I hope they aren't waking a beast like a volcano or something of that nature.

4.7 earthquake wakes up KAKEland

"A large earthquake woke up a lot of people in southern Kansas early Thursday. It was strong enough to knock items to the floor in some places.

. . .

A KAKE viewer sent us a picture of cracks in their ceiling and wall from the quake. It was in the area of McCormick and Meridian, in south Wichita."

[link to www.kake.com]

McCormick and Meridian is not that far away from me at all. It's maybe half a mile. I'm between Meridian and West on Douglas.

Most definitely! I was shocked to see it was only a 4.7 with what I was feeling. So are many others from the Facebook comments that I am seeing on local news channels.

Our house swayed for quite awhile. My husband is out on business and our big old hunting dog took over his space in bed. He barked and then jumped down and hid. LOL! I'm in the Moorings section of Wichita. It felt to me about like that one we had awhile back that was a 4.8.
