A GLP Browsing Tip for Newbies
Feel free to add your own tips here:

A lot of you may already do this, so disregard.

Do you hate it when you're scanning through the homepage, looking at all of the interesting threads, and you come across two or three very interesting ones that you want to read. So you pick one, and when you're finished and return to the homepage, the other threads you wanted to read have moved....then you can't remember which threads they were and aren't able to find them....??

Well, if you're using IE (and probably any other browser), if you come across a thread that you want to read, do this:

Right-click on the thread-link and choose "Open in new window"

This will open your thread in another browser window so that you can read to your heart's content. When you're done, just close the window and you will be right back where you were before with all of the threads you wanted to read in the same spot. Fortunately, GLP is not like Drudge who refreshes the page every 2 or 3 minutes (it seems). No hard feelings Drudge; most people like what you do, but the refresh; not so much.

So, enjoy.

Make sure you have your tabs set up to load in the background. Otherwise you go to click on the tab and it loads only to say. Sorry that message...

Or... design a website properly so that shit does not move around every time you click the back button. Very annoying. Auto-refresh is evil, and don't even get me started on HTML5.

Thanks

This is a fourm, it's not supposed to stay in the same spot...
The syntactical nature of reality, the real secret of magic, is that the world is made of words. And if you know the words that the world is made of, you can make of it whatever you wish.

~ Terence McKenna

"Death is a stripping away of all that is not you. The secret of life is to "die before you die" - and find that there is no death."

Unfortunately, you know those are gone forever. You could always try reposting them in another language. Maybe they'll last longer.

Btw, this works on mobile platforms too.

Hold your finger down on the link, and a prompt should pop up with options to open the link in a New tab.
