Could be, but new sound to me and I've been here for decades. Only been hearing the past year, and this time was the loudest.

Went on for about 15 minutes or so, so was more than just one aircraft, if that's what it was.

I lived near airbases.

If it sounds like one jet but is LONG and LOUD, it is multiples taking off one after the other. Probably after burn takeoffs if the jet is fully loaded with ordinance.

I remember watching evenings when Oceana NAS would scramble jet after jet after jet. This was during the first Gulf War.

Our local NATO training base jets went up at 6:30 am and are flying like crazy. Pretty loud.

Because it is called an ENJJPT Program (Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training)

And it's in Texas.

I heard faint rumbling this morning for about 15 minutes. I was still in bed and it was very silent except for the distant rumbling. I'm in central Texas.

I am 99.9% sure you heard a series of hard take offs.

They were all lined up and 1 will take off, then just as the one jet lifts from the runway, 1 more throttles up and tales off. Again, just as that jet lifts off the runway, another one throttles up.

The military does practice putting as many jets in the air as possible every so often.

It results in a LONG drawn out rumble that sounds just like one jet but over a long period and is noticeably louder.

Yeah, I saw the chemtrails, LOTS of them, when I heard the noise and ran outside. They must have just been laid down. Now they are pretty much dissipating, it's a little breezy here.

My Dad was in that war, on the JFK. We watched the news every morning. As a kid, I was on the air base often....mostly swimming pool. But we did like to watch the jets when they were practicing.

During the onset of the 1st Gulf War, I saw my first B2 bomber landing. They fly so quiet it seems like I was watching a hologram flying. Got to sit in an F-117 as well.

Not common, I saw/heard it twice over a period of 8 years.

When I saw it, they were fully loaded with weapons and fuel. It was just after sunset and the afterburn take off was awesome.

In fact, if I remember correctly, that was the squadron that loaded up the JFK off shore when they shipped off to war.

The jets never stay on ship when in port. they all land on base. And all fly out to the ship when off shore.

He did, alive and well today.

As a kid, it was fun, the jets, the noise, the smell of jet fumes. I was a runway rat back then.

The war was scary when Scuds were hitting Israel with the chemical weapon threat. I remember that well.

I bet that was a fabulous site, I was really hoping to see something this morning, but didn't, either they had passed or maybe just not in viewing space.

Never know that about not staying on ships when on shore, I guess they fly them in for safety reasons.
