Why???
Seriously; Why do the "elite" want to depopulate the world?
I've read the whole thread and it seems the best answers are the religious ones. "satan wants it!"
So I'm supposed to believe that egotistical "elite" believe in Satan? All of them? Some of them? People who are so rich and powerful don't believe in an all loving god, but believe in satan as their master? Really!
Or that eventually in a few years the "elite" will stick their brains inside machines and live forever and not need the rest of us anymore. So does that mean the 500,000 left are just there to grease their gears and change their oil when needed? Why would they even need to make plans if this is the goal. once they are inside machines they could just push the button and nuke us all away. They wouldn't need food any more/ clothing/shelter/ect. Their lives would essentially be pointless wouldn't it?
Or they are going to figure out how to be immortal humans. Great, they have all the money/power/immortality/and resources. Now what? Just routine running the world stuff now then huh? just to keep the ego fed. Weird!
So really, What is their main reason for this supposed depopulation? What is the real goal? resources? you would think if it was resources then we would have planetary missions already. That kinda says volumes itself (if they know we can't get off this planet.) Otherwise if we do have limited resources and can't get off the planet to get more; then limiting the people who use them would be a good start.
Is it just plain ego? having only their families bloodlines alive? That's fine for a while....but eventually there would be members of their own families who would break off and become separate thinking from the group mind. Division, it will always happen. Even native indians formed bands that war with each other. the grass is greener. So even "they" must know the ego is a pointless method.
If it's technology, then wouldn't it be better for them to develop that to a point of endlessness? Even a brain in a hard drive would need to be moved to a new hard drive once every millennium or so. They would need someone to do that....or would they? maybe they have that figured out as well. robots fixing robots of people who think they are real in a matrix that's already inside a matrix.
Or just maybe, these people think they are special, but in reality they are all just psychopaths being led by other psychopaths.
Who really knows why? Do they even really know why, or is it just something they believe and do; because some other "smart guy" in the room told them so?

I believe, in my heart that people are good, but as we know, this is not always so. Therefore, let's begin with the assumption that Bilderbergers are for the most part good. Perhaps they simply want to eradicate suffering, and there is plenty of that to go around. Life is a zero sum game unless you believe in afterlife.
Humans have decided that all cats and dogs must be spayed/neutered or we will be overrun with suffering animals who don't have enough resources to survive on their own. If they are ill or unwanted, they can and often are put to death. Humanely, of course.
Now transfer this thinking to an elite who own 99% of the world. In their minds, they must be like Gods. It seems impossible that Elites are immune to the same vices that the common folk endure...even the good ones..it's human nature as you say, the grass is always greener, even for the elites. Why not make the world a better place and depopulate it elitely/humanely? Surely their egos support such actions? After all, they are Elite.
Maybe the Elites are simply bored. I like that answer the best. We are all bored at some point in life, utterly and completely. Then we go make accounts on GLP and feed the need!
Let's assume they are inherently bad people. They own everything. Life as a very wealthy person must be incredibly boring. Nothing to strive for, nothing unobtainable. Why not play a game? Why not use that power to act as Gods and play with fire, create wings as Icarus did? There is surely nothing that can stop money, power and privilege.
What if elites are both good and evil, a sampling of humanity given untold blessings? There is always a Cain for an Abel and vise versa.
This is why. It may be simple but sometimes, it really is not a grand masterminded plan but simple good and evil that is at the core. Or yin and yang.
True elites are reaching into outer space for over 50 years now. There is nothing left on earth that cannot be done, including robots with downloaded human brains.
