Look up! Interactive map reveals the satellites and space junk soaring above your head right now
Interactive map was created by Patricio Gonzalez, an artist and engineer at mapping start-up Mapzen
The paths of more than 1,000 satellites are plotted on it using publicly-available data from SatNOGS, for example
Users can search for cities and zoom in to find the names of satellites that pass over their homes or offices
The map shows the satellites' progress in real-time and the creator said the tool is being used at Nasa

Most of the time we are blissfully unaware of the 2,250 satellites flying above our heads.
And while some are big enough to be seen by the naked eye, keen amateur astronomers still need to know where to look in the star-studded sky.
To make this easier, there is now an interactive map that shows satellites and pieces of space junk passing above cities, and even your home and office, in real-time.
