They were DELTA CIVIL AFFAIRS. From linked news article: “The three subjects were part of the US Army Delta Civil Affairs Company stationed out of Ft. Bragg, NC.

Understand people being alarmed. Have spent my adulthood around military and am very familiar with that area of NC. Great job from the populace! From the information provided though they sound legit. My big concern is why didn't Delta guys know exactly what their limits were?

Many special operators will purposely not "look military" similar to undercover cops.

I do NOT want to send my kids to school today. This might be the last straw. Yesterday I had a horrible feeling, then the UNC thing happened, then SB. My husband will think I'm paranoid but I'll just direct him to his Ebola preps!

This is one of the strangest stories I have ever heard. I don't buy it. Military is up to something.

I started to post this last night I am glad someone else did.
I am eastern NC and can tell you that locally without a shadow of doubt everyone is questioning the validity of the news story and think it is bullshit.
The local LEOs in the area I personally know are furious over this BS response and will be on high alert in the area.
A LEO I personally talked too said There is no reasonable explanation for them to show up at a school unannounced not showing any identification and not dressed properly.
The fact that the school person would buzz in 3 adult men at same time that did not have any association to the school blew his mind and should be corrected.

It is indeed complete bullshit and should not have occurred. Sounds like maybe some kind of psy-op to get people accustomed to such crap. Shame on DELTA Force, the Civilian Army group or whoever the hell they are for allowing this. And the local sheriff for trying to excuse it.
