Let's make the counts. 50% of the voters did not go to the vote. Among the 50% who voted, 60% of the voters voted for traditional parties. 27% votes for the Republicans 23% votes for the Socialists 10% votes for various Left Wing groups 30% votes for Marine Le Pen candidates. I would not call this a spectacular result. The 50% who did not vote are happy with things as they are, or they would have gone voting.  The 50% who don't vote know it's useless to do so. It's like that in almost every EU country.
