All "churches, mosques and other places of worship" are are automatically considered as 501c3, non profit organizations by the IRS, without applying for that status.Unless they organize as a business or as another type entity. Which means the must follow all the 501c3 rules.

when my grandmother passed she willed a sizeable sum of money to a small country church to be used for various programs.

My dad being the executor went up to the church to check on how the money was being used for said programs.

all the money had gone missing, and no one had any answers.

this was so disgusting to me that i gave up on the church(as a whole).

I"m glad she got her church back! But, unfortunately none of them handled this dispute the way the bible says to, and it brought more shame on the entire christian church as a result. And, that's even worse!

One does not need a church to pray, one does not need a church to be closer to God. You are your temple and God is everywhere.

We still need community.. and people still need to find their "group".. but most churches are full of people who go there for no other reason than to keep up appearances.. IMO And to judge others.
