Got turfed from work today after 25 years.

Always had met or exceeded expectations on every performance appraisal and then, all because I slipped on black ice in our parking lot at work, I am getting turfed.
I ruptured two discs in my back and am out of work on workers comp for up to 6 months. They have decided that I am on the list of underachievers and am laid off effective immediately.
I will get my workers comp until the government doctors declare me healed but after that I am done. Merry fucking Christmas!
