Glass–Steagall legislation

After the financial crisis of 2007–2008, some commentators argued that the repeal of Sections 20 and 32 had played an important role in leading to the housing bubble and financial crisis.

Economics Nobel prize laureate Joseph Stiglitz, for instance, argued that "when repeal of Glass-Steagall brought investment and commercial banks together, the investment-bank culture came out on top", and banks which had previously been managed conservatively turned to riskier investments to increase their returns.

Never seen that, looks like it would be an interesting watch.

Global debt hit an all-time high of $233 trillion (£169 trillion) in the third quarter of 2017, according to the Institute of International Finance (IIF). That's a $16 trillion increase on debt levels at the end of 2016 and more than three times the size of the global economy.

[link to www.independent.co.uk (secure)]

It's a global house of cards, virtually all 1s and 0s now. And with so much "inbreeding" amongst the biggest players - a simple example being financial institutions that own multiple companies that run in "competition" to each other - it's virtually a stage show.

Long working hours and money worries among reasons, documentary reveals

Other reasons include easy access to alternatives with thriving sex industry

Two things that surprised me about the documentary was finding out just how hard the Lehman Brother's collapse effected Japan and how the 'sex therapist' recommendation for the problem was..polygamy.

It's clear the Japanese companies nor their government care little about their workers necessity to be anything other than that.

They are not replacing themselves, with future workers..

 Quoting: Sol-tari

In Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind, Yuval Noah Harari observes that our species conquered the globe because of our ability to share stories about things that don’t objectively exist, such as “gods, nations, and corporations.” Such fictions allowed us to organize around shared values, goals, and ideas. It was not exactly wisdom—sapiens—that gave us dominion, but creative storytelling. We are Homo fabulator. “The real difference between us and chimpanzees is the mythical glue that binds together large numbers of individuals, families and groups,” Harari writes. “This glue has made us masters of creation.”

Unlike the Neanderthals and other early humans who could work together in groups of at most 150 individuals, we learned to cooperate in groups of thousands, tens of thousands, millions—simply by telling stories to forge shared dreams. But now, this gift is in danger. As the speed and efficiency of computer processing increases at predictable rates, our ability to author our own destinies is being consumed by a conjured figment of our imagination: the internet.

No ad on my laptop, just the tablet.

We carry it around in our pockets. We wear it on our wrists. We devote more than 10.5 hours a day to screen time.

Facebook has conducted experiments on us that show how susceptible we are to mind control. In 2012, the company secretly tampered with the news feeds of nearly 700,000 people, manipulating the ratio of emotionally positive to emotionally negative posts, then monitoring the subsequent activity of those users.

What they found is that emotions can be remotely controlled and are highly contagious on the platform. People who saw more unhappy posts showed more unhappy activity and vice versa. Many questioned the experiment’s legality and ethics, wondering if Facebook had triggered any suicides. Facebook apologized for the way the experiments were conducted and promised to conduct them “differently” in the future, with enhanced review.

People are very easy to control using emotional triggers disguised as positive reinforcement, and the susceptibility to echo chamber in social media, is terrifying.

World of Warcraft utilized this same methodology when when they changed the word 'unrested' to 'normal' and 'normal' to 'rested'.

As the video states people are already signing up (and i agree with their assessment of those who do). It is easy to see it aiding a dictatorship, however i wonder how it would work in a divided populace (such as US).
