You mean our income?

Because they are the venues we already do, were booked, and have been doing for decades that were canceled.

After 5 decades..you know what a venue is going to average every year.

They've all been canceled due the no grouping rule.

You're retarded.

Have you seen the layoff threads or are you just trolling me?

Small business is the heart of this country. And squeezing out the first 2 selling months, and causing a pandemic fear..is a fatal blow to our way of life.

Most small business can't weather this kind of a storm..and we all know it. If am selling at Holiday Market next November..I'll be amazed and maybe thankful for that miracle I've been hoping for.

Take responsibility for yourself. You been doing this a decade. You know your income from it is seasonal. No one could plan ahead of something they dont know will happen, but one can plan so it's not such a hard blow when something does happen unexpected. I'm talking about you not being prepared. Maybe all the time spent on GLP is keeping you from being as prepared as you could have.

We save everything we can through our selling months, to make it through the ones we don't.

The 2008 financial saw us lose near everything and live in a 2 car carport for nearly 5 years. It was Hell.

We clawed our way back only to be shut down by this thing.

And not just us. So many. It's insane.

It is expensive to live and run a business. We manage as best we can. We're only 2 people.

There is only so much we can do. My partner works really hard..and this is hard on him in a way that is painful for me to both see and experience.

He normally never stops moving. Rides his bike to the top of all the hills here..

This hurts him more than me..and I hate that. A lot.

6 months is a good rule of thumb in most bad situations.

This Pandemic? I'm not sure, I expect waves of it, and now they talk as if it could be a new crisis yearly. At this point, I think Powers are at play. We will need as many strong stable people as possible.

2008 I remember well.

I've always been prepared for multiple years of crisis. But, crisis requires strong social bonds over money. It also requires multiple skill sets and community access to resources to allow for those skills to be utilized.

Unfortunately, our me first culture on both sides of the border does not generally allow for this. This is by design. All economic safety nets were replaced by a mindset of casino culture and the inefficiences of hoarding from the top down.

Effectively...our societies are not acculturated to the survival mindset of our ancestors. By design.

How many will be feeding and caring for the elderly?

Beside the point. I am not elderly for a long time and I am talking about the present situation.
 Quoting: Seer777

The viewpoint from which you attempt to empathize with the concerns for the elderly being sounded out in the media echo chamber is not beside the point of the present situation.

I don't think of it as being kind. It is part of my responsibility towards those who have taken on responsibility for my actions, be they the things I have achieved or my misdeeds.

He had four choices in mind for where to move into a retirement home. He created a spreadsheet to weigh the pros and cons, and distributed it throughout the family, asking for feedback. My four older siblings busied themselves with giving analyses. I gave him thanks for respecting my opinion, and told him that I felt out of place weighing in on a decision for himself that was his to make.

He chose the location situated less than one mile from my residence.

We all like to think we don't need help and to convince others of that fact...

That poem about betrayal I once shared left out the coup de grace.

After about 18 months of caring for my then 1.5 and 3-year old daughters, which entailed being awake from 4 PM on Sunday until 8 AM Tuesday or Wednesday every single week, I finally reached a breaking point while their mother was busy with no contact chasing a pipe-dream with a crackhead boyfriend in Hollywood. I called my mother, not to ask for help, but to just share the thoughts I was fighting - considering dropping my daughters off at the guardian home for children she was employed as a chaplain of at the time and disappearing.

Fast-forward to when she's cheating again after being taken back in on two previous occasions, and I tell her to move out. And she asks me, "What are you going to do this time? Your mom's dead."

That's why I don't get wrapped up or emotional anymore about financial concerns. Not because I don't know better, but because I know of so much worse, of something that betrayal from an entrusted financial system pales in comparison.

I don't know why you and your partner having each other isn't enough. For the stress and it's consequence, I am sorry. For me, it would be.

Re: Mad World
 Quoting: Seer777

My great grandma was called Nana. She was born in 1903 and I was in college when she died. She was 97 or thereabout.

I was the first born great grand child of, 4 girls her son, my grandpa, produced.

My earliest memories revolve around her. She use to serve me a poached egg in one of those cups. She also had this collection of polished stone eggs of all colors, I loved to play with.

One time when my mom left me for a time..she cut all my hair off. I think I was 3. When my mom came to pick me up, and Nana opened the door..I still recall my mom saying..OMG! you cut her hair!

I remember being tiny..and looking up at my mom.

I hated that hair cut. But I remember why I hated it.

[link to youtu.be (secure)]
 Quoting: Seer777

I had a great grandma too. One I remember keenly.

The last time I saw her..was in her 'old age home'..and her son, my grandpa, had already died..and no one told her.

She was sitting on this long couch with a bunch of other super old people. I was around 20 years old.

I bent down and said, Hi Nana..do you remember me? I'm you first great grandchild..

She looked at me and rubbed my face and smiled..then looked away.

I told her, that's okay..and told her I loved her..

She came to me after she died.

I was in the shower and she tugged on the back of a piece of my hair.

I knew it was her..and told her I loved her, and goodbye.

I got the call minutes after I stepped out the shower.
