Quoting: Xlegic Idk if I can accomplish that. I mean, I once quit for like 1-2 years. Then boredom got best of me. Now, its not the addiction that comes from the cigarettes but its also because I "like" smoking it. Deadly combination. Intellectually I knew that. Its within my character. Something else worthy living for is the notion that entered my mind, warranting the reason for quit. Something like that. Go for it! Smoked good tobacco for 12 years, American Spirits and Nat Shermans. Switched to vaping for a while and used Black Note liquid because it tasted like good tobacco, went back to smoking the said fuck it and quit all together. The only way I will ever smoke again is if cigarettes are free and they won't affect your health. I do miss smoking though, especially good tobacco. Quit, and never take another puff. You're welcome, as I did quit and relapsed a few times, nah, a fuck lot actually, but now I know I'll never be that type that smokes every now and then - As a nicotineoholic, I can only make the addiction dormant. All or nothing, no in between. With the links provided, you have all you need to stay off once you quit again. The concept of forever is hard to bear I would say, so another very useful advice on how to not relapse is, to say to yourself 'I won't smoke today'... That's easier than thinking that you will give it up forever. |

I agree with your previous post about 'Never taking another puff'. I did use the gum for a short while after I quit. Takes the edge off. I recommend cold turkey, though I can tell the edge was hard for me, but for sure even more for everyone else who had contact with me the first 3 days at least. Now, after a few weeks, I enjoy the benefits since the smoke had vanished and how my body starts to clear the lungs and stuff, but I still have a crave here and there. Cigs were a habit for over two decades. I think I failed/relapsed enough though to not take another drag anymore. I also recommend to find a hobby that moves your body - I am roller skating since a year meanwhile, and this is my number one pastime obsession now. It helped greatly to wean me off more and more, when I think about it. Stay open for a healthy hobby to find you which gives you fun in a playful and childlike sense. It'll confront you with fears, too, but also reward you with plenty of energy :) |
