When I think of an Iron rod and shards of pottery; I flash to the recordings caught on the pottery from the actions of the wheel and the stylus.

True lo fi analog capturing time.

Maybe the first loop outside of memory.

Reproduction.

Ever larger loops.

I will never forget what it felt like on election night, skipping through potential timelines. Felt like a needle skipping on the grooves of a record.

Skip, skip, skip....unreal.

Re: Mad World
Memory Hole

A memory hole is any mechanism for the alteration or disappearance of inconvenient or embarrassing documents, photographs, transcripts or other records, such as from a website or other archive, particularly as part of an attempt to give the impression that something never happened.

The concept was first popularized by George Orwell's dystopian novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, where the Party's Ministry of Truth systematically re-created all potentially embarrassing historical documents, in effect, re-writing all of history to match the often-changing state propaganda. These changes were complete and undetectable.

interesting visual, considering that it would still be possible to piece together and re-construct the data the platter holds given enough patience and dedication towards the task

were a strong enough magnetic field brought into the vicinity of it, though, the case would be distinctly different

all of the bits would be shifted to be either 0s or 1s depending on the polarity of the applied field, wherein one segment of the data would remain the same, while the remainder would be changed - hence, nothing is erased, it's just the arbitrary change enforced upon one segment makes the correlations of patterns that equate to data scrambled into what can only be construed as indiscernible noise

so much software sold to write and write and re-write bits to mask what residual magnetism (memory) might be re-traced when it's much simpler to, say, put it under a subwoofer for a while...

considering the biological equivalent argued to be the sequences of molecules encoded in dna, it makes one wonder who wrote it in - the almost uncontrollable urge to write and write and re-write over and over again. is it to survive or is it to erase what made us able to survive?

Great post. Who would take the time to resurrect another?

I was thinking in terms of 1..people being deleted. 2..shattering like pottery 3..Memory 4..Memory hole 5..Iris 6 pupil.

The Hole.

People being deleted, like those whom will be considered undesirable to the coming order. Essentially..digitally disappeared. This is already happening.

In the future I see it in terms like the Altered Carbon series. Where an implant is placed in the back of the neck to record a persons memories.

The only way someone finds 'true death' is if their stack is destroyed. Thus destroying their memories. Erasing them

Subwoofer? Like the vibrations?

Any way those can be turned down some? Ugh.

no matter the name, the matter remains the same. be it a Herbert worm or a mythological wyrm, the dichotomous themes of consumption without discernment and production of a vector for enlightenment/emotional release are intertwined

what is interesting in the association you mention is the dichotomy between that which is water-bound and that which is desert-bound

one must breach earth to consume when called, the other water...

This morning I suddenly say the 'Nobody meme' in a different light.

The egg has been a theme, as has the goose...so I've been thinking of that scene from Willy Wonka with the geese that lay the golden eggs and the 'egg detector'. Whether one is a 'good egg' or a bad egg.

The meme brought both the best and worst out of people and one could then be weighted accordingly.

The good eggs grouped with good eggs and vice versa.

The echo.

A shared bubble.

I described 2,3 and 4 d space this way.

There are physical and psychologic spaces we can coinhabit.

This is why, over the years, I have defined very particular images and then destroyed the connections.

We all seek that comfortable, known space.

Oftentimes people use the trauma or trap of sexual energies to feign and stigmatize the seekers.

What are vices; extremely comfortable traps that evoke an singular compelling response that fades from the original gracelike vista
