I used it to open my first bank account. I think I was around 8 years old. I kept $20 to spend on something and I bought this stamp set..I was really excited about it..because I didn't get a lot of things. When I got it home..half the stamps were dried up and didn't work.. I learned a lesson that day that clearly still stick with me. my father made sure i had a bank account! brought my first car when i turned sixteen. having my own money was a double edge sword. it provided me an independence that most sixteen year old's didn't have. my maturity didn't match the exuberant invulnerably of youth. lol I stopped caring about purchasing anything. After Vietnam.. you would have thought someone would have learned something.. Stupid public sits and watches TV mindlessly. ^^ Inside China’s Push to Turn Muslim Minorities Into an Army of Workers The order from Chinese officials was blunt and urgent. Villagers from Muslim minorities should be pushed into jobs, willing or not. Quotas would be set and families penalized if they refused to go along. “Make people who are hard to employ renounce their selfish ideas,” the labor bureau of Qapqal, a county in the western region of Xinjiang, said in the directive last year. Such orders are part of an aggressive campaign to remold Xinjiang’s Muslim minorities — mostly Uighurs and Kazakhs — into an army of workers for factories and other big employers. Under pressure from the authorities, poor farmers, small traders and idle villagers of working age attend training and indoctrination courses for weeks or months, and are then assigned to stitch clothes, make shoes, sweep streets or fill other jobs. The labor bureau of Qapqal ordered that villagers should undergo military-style training to convert them into obedient workers, loyal to employers and the ruling Communist Party. “Turn around their ingrained lazy, lax, slow, sloppy, freewheeling, individualistic ways so they obey company rules,” the directive said. It takes about 5-6 months to starve out a population completely, once the supply chain is blocked and the food runs out. That's without a pandemic. It is unwise to assume this pandemic will follow any other pattern than the ones before it. The toughest lessons..are often the greatest. In some weird form of Irony that feels like Justice.
