Our first show of the year was postponed..yesterday.

Thankfully..it is more of a business bump to get ready for the selling season that starts in April. Which might also be 'canceled'.

I remember exactly where I was and how I was thinking when I did that show last year. I got this great picture of my dog looking out the window at the ocean, of my parent's beach house..

The energy always gets intense in March. At least for me.

Mammon is the name of an ancient Deity worshiped by the Sumerians. He is the God of wealth and his name translates as "property". The Christians began to use the Holy Name of Mammon as a pejorative, a term that was used to describe greed, avarice, and unjust worldly gain in Biblical literature.

My feelings did start to return eventually. But not all of them came back, and they didn't arrive symmetrically.

I had not been able to care for a very long time, and when I finally started being able to care about things again, I HATED them. But hatred is technically a feeling, and my brain latched onto it like a child learning a new word.

Hating everything made all the positivity and hope feel even more unpalatable. The syrupy, over-simplified optimism started to feel almost offensive.

The only reason I mention..is because I saw this on imgur earlier..

I was a smoker at 19/20 and she and he were visiting me.

He saw..and asked me..Why do you smoke? Can I smoke?

I said, no you can't. It's bad.

My brother was there and reminded me for years..what he asked me.

I quit smoking 5+ years ago. Not even a drag. Nor do I want it.

I can still see/hear him standing there on my parent's deck, looking up at me..

We also played a little baseball that day..and when he accidentally nailed his younger brother in the head with a bat..he hugged his brother and said..

Try to stay out of the way of my bat..
