Get all the virtual environments. They're in settings when you hit the Oculus button.

I hung out in the 'Quest dome' earlier. Shooting stars and Northern Lights in a house like I'll never own..or even walk in.

Oh seer, you HAVE to try youtube VR. people have set up these videos where you follow them like climbing huge mountains and stuff, it feels so real and it's amazing.

I'm living in absolute tech paradise due to this lockdown. But I love it. It's like I can go anywhere, into the mind of the internet or into a virtual world, I feel like I can explore the world in VR too. I don't mind it. Maybe it's not what life was like, but I am not anxious or sad. I feel good almost every day. That's amazing

Oh seer! I highly highly recommend beat saber! It's extremely satisfying and playing along with the music is so cool in a way I never expected, I totally see why it's so popular

I accidentally left mine on all night, so I'm charging it. It's pretty incredible. Did you find the different environments?

I've heard only good things about Beat Saber. Looks fun.

Ahh my ex showed me how to sync it with the computer and run games through that, which would be needed for skyrim and such. It's a bit of a process though

I hung out in the quest dome most of yesterday. They all have their charms.

I have not tried it.

I have been trying to watch the 360 videos and tours but I'm running into buffering issues.

Not sure if server side or my internet isn't fast enough. All the other devices stream fine otherwise.

Might take it next door and see if it runs on Comcast better and then choose whether to change services.

I had some of those issues on a per-video basis. Like some didn't really work and others were fine. Maybe it's server side

When I change the quality to 'best'(which is what you want to watch it in) it won't play at all. I can watch it in 'auto' but it is pretty blurry at times. Sometimes it buffers out.

It's only an issue while streaming. The dinosaur adventures are breath taking.

i once had to put down a constrictor i kept as a pet, a beautiful 7+ foot long redtail

i misjudged the progression of her recovery from the mistreatment, and left her unattended with prey... the rat fed upon her alive, exposing her spine to plain view

i felt it my responsibility, and the fact that exercising it within a state of ignorance might have made her suffering worse still haunts me to this day more than two decades later


i don't remember what i did to the rat, but i remember it was the crab apple tree's sandbox i grew up with that i felt should be her resting place

they are not similar in the slightest degree

my father had the family dog that bit me in the face when i was 18 months old put down on the same day it happened; mars, my chart ruler, was transiting the dog star on that very day as well

i wonder at times what difference it might have made had i been given a chance to 'make amends' so to say, and learn to trust again after having been bitten

i am over 40 years old and still to this day, any breed of dog with a similar muzzle, i.e. malamute, husky, akita, shepard - including my younger tree's aussie - cause an immediate fight/flight response upon eye contact that i've merely adapted to with a dissociative reaction

yes trauma like that we are not emotionally equipped for

i don't question anymore whether one is able to glean meaning from traumatic experience, i give the benefit of the doubt

what i still doubt is the collective's ability to relate

It's sad but your father was protecting you. I've been bit by a husky and aus shepherd really bad. I thought I needed stitches at first. You can still kinda see where the husky bit me on the top of my wrist. I was trying to break up a dog fight. A few hours after he bit me he came up to me and put his head on my lap. Those sad eyes looking up at me. Of course I forgave him! I loved that dog so much! He never bit me again. He lived to be 16. I've been bit by cats too. One of the nastier bites the owner chose to put her cat down.
