One Winter afternoon, it was super cold in my room and I plugged in the small space heater and laid down in front of it. I wasn't wearing pants, and the heat against my legs was super comfortable and warm. I fell asleep in front of the space heater, suddenly waking to my mom grabbing me in a panic and a few second later being forced under freezing water. She was rubbing the cold water over my legs while, I cried wondering what was going on. I found out after the fact..she found me asleep next to the space heater only a few inches away. My legs were bright red and she thought I had been burned by it. I wasn't burned. I also never fell asleep in front of a space heater again. Today 2022, a space heater burns down a tower full of people.  ^I've spent most of my life looking back on this event thinking my mom totally overreacted. Thinking about it today, maybe she didn't and had I laid there much longer I would have been burned. In another event, she woke up in the middle of the night with a 'bad feeling' and went to check on us. My brother was about 3 at the time and his bedside lamp had fallen over on his pillow right next to his face and had burned a hole straight through the pillowcase and was starting to smolder the feathers beneath.. I still recall seeing the hole in his pillow the next morning when she told me the story of waking up. https://imgur.com/a/qn1nGw9Lol...literally burned myself on fire/heaters/etc with less of a reaction then that... An early one was with those bar heaters...would huddle in front of it during the winter mornings while getting ready for school...back up against it, and had some wonderful brands across my butt for a while  *Glitches May Occur.
