My partner and his brother just got home from the Portland Saturday Market.

Some drama happened today. A machete and an axe-wielding guy showed up, the cops shot him with rubber bullets and tased him. They brought me a piece of the taser fiber..which is kinda gross really because it was handed to me before I knew what it was.

While the entire event occurred, 2 women continued to shop and pay for their items while slightly cowering.


He got tased 3 times and shot with the bean bags twice, then ultimately jumped in the river, made it half way across, jet skier tried to save him while people from the shore yelled to let him drown.

Then the police boat went and got him. He lived. White guy.


All's well that ends well I suppose.

They both have a CHL and tons of training.

What I don't understand..is why an 18 y/o can walk into a gun store and buy a rifle and walk out with it the same day, but if I want to put one of the many options of handguns in my purse next Saturday just to 'feel safe', it's a crime?

Because I don't have a license.

How does that make sense? Serious question.


If you are charged with carrying a concealed weapon, you face Class B misdemeanor charges and a potential sentence of 6 months in jail and $2000 in fines.

To be perfectly clear..I'd risk certain death in a mass shooting before I'd carry a perfectly legal handgun in my purse without a license..

Not even in my pocket walking around the block.

I have seen some of your posts over time, but only really started paying attention a few weeks ago when you came to this thread and the energy went nuts.
