Political correctness is essentially suppression of free speech in the guise of protecting people from being offended and giving the advantage to a particular political line. I don't know when they enacted a law that said that you have the right not to be offended, but it seems to be upheld in many places. The people who embrace PC are the ones who cannot defend their politics or opinions with facts. They need peer pressure to shut up their opposition. That's what political correctness does.

Personally, I find Trump vulgar, populist and catering easy solutions for a low-brow audience, but that's ok. That's one way to play the game and trying to shut him up by being "shocked and appalled" at him and his political incorrectness is just naive. The liberals have lost a major advantage when they have to confront an opponent who doesn't care if he's seen politically incorrect and that scares them. Good. I'm just surprised that GOP doesn't have a more polished and intellectual candidate to run in parallel with Trump.
