I try and stay away. When I drink I get pretty sloppy. This happened at the company Christmas party a few days ago... Ended up an hour late for my night shift with a killer hang over.

Are there people that don't even celebrate? Like Christians other than harre chrisnas ( excuse my spelling)? Jesus wasn't even born this time of year. You can celebrate God's love everyday.

Tremendous pressure, so much emphasis on "Christmas magic," so much expectation for this to always be a "magical" time of year, perfection is the standard when it comes to Christmas. Expectations of "Christmas miracles" and there can be feelings of disappointment and sadness if there are no miracles, no magic, or imperfections. The media is filled with images of happy families. They want your money, and tremendous effort has been put into requiring money to meet the expectations of Christmas in this country.

I'm not a Christian yet I do the whole present giving thing. Changes when you're a parent. It's more about anticipation and giving. The kids get into it as does the wife.

As far as the social aspect, yeah I know.. Fucking hate it myself.. But it's a thing. Explaining to the witless that a religion they hold dear is pointless.

Just focus on ten days after xmas and how in that time your anxiety will be a memory and not forefront.

Christmas is not about religion. If you really think about it, it was adopted by some religion.

Giving gifts at the worst of the lean season is a symbol of preparedness. It is a moment in the black that is happy..

Think back to when there was very little. A time when winter meant life or death.
