Re: All prophecies the bible says will happen in End Times are happening or almost complete at present

There are many similarities in both books - however, it's clear Micah has many references to end time prophecies and Habakkuk has only one:

Habakkuk 2:14 For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.

---

It's the exact same verse found in Isaiah 11- which mostly describes the millennial reign of Jesus:

9...for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76676352

We come full circle back to Micah 7 - when God tells him he will show him marvelous things.

The nations will be watching and be confused & captivated at the display of power:

Micah 7:15 According to the days of thy coming out of the land of Egypt will I shew unto him marvellous things.

16 The nations shall see and be confounded at all their might: they shall lay their hand upon their mouth, their ears shall be deaf.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76682098

Where have we seen these particular words before?:

Micah 7:16 The nations shall SEE...

We have a similar passage in Ezekiel 39:

21 And I will set my glory among the heathen, and all the heathen shall SEE my judgment that I have executed

-----

Matthew 24 - When we SEE all these things
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76684953

From what is described in Micah 7 - it could very well also be referring to the gog magog war of Ezekiel 38, 39.

Let's look at a few verses to determine whether it is.

Micah 7:12 In that day also he shall come even to thee from Assyria, and from the fortified cities, and from the fortress even to the river, and from sea to sea, and from mountain to mountain.

------

Apparently there are many nations involved here.

Same with the gog magog war.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76687911

Fear will grip their hearts - when they realize they have provoked God's wrath:

Micah 7:17 They shall lick the dust like a serpent, they shall move out of their holes like worms of the earth: they shall be afraid of the Lord our God, and shall fear because of thee.

Ezekiel 38:20...all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence

----

Ezekiel 38:18 And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord God, that my fury shall come up in my face.

You people are so pathetic, how can you possibly read those verses from 2000 years ago and attempt to apply them to YOU , TODAY!?? You people know nothing about the history of the early church, nothing about the timeline or history of the destruction of old covenant Israel, you all are lost, keep living in fear and doing nothing because you think it's "normal" and has to happen so you can be "raptured" out of here, not realizing IT'S A LIE TO MAKE YOU PASSIVE AND DO NOTHING WHILE EVIL DESTROYS CHRISTIAN NATIONS!

Well, a few questions for you then:

When did the gog magog war happen? When did we SEE it happening?

You do know it takes place before the great tribulation don't you?

If not - here's why it does...

But first - what is the Gog Magog war?

Gog Magog war (Ezekiel 38) starts with God putting a hook in the enemies (Arab Nations) jaw, drawing them down to attack Israel (in the latter days).

God supernaturally destroys these invaders.

When the world witnesses this, ALL heathen, and Israel finally recognize God.

Ezekiel 39:21 And I will set my glory among the heathen, and all the heathen shall see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid upon them.

After this we're told in Ezekiel 29:25 "NOW All Israelis will return to the Land from the 4 corners of the earth."

------

So why do I say the gog magog war takes place before the great tribulation.

Because of these 5 verses:

Daniel 8:23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors (Isaelis) are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up (the antichrist).

Matthew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

Matthew 24:21... For then shall be great tribulation

Ezekiel 39:22 So the house of Israel shall know that I am the Lord their God from that day and forward. After the gog magog war....

Ezekiel 39:23 ...Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they trespassed against me, therefore hid I my face from them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword.

-----

Translated:

The gog magog war - was so powerful a display of God's glory - the whole nation of Israel turns to God; - thus the transgressors come to full.

After this the antichrist stands up.

According to Jesus - this is when the great tribulation will start.

Next....

What happens immediately after the great tribulation?

Zechariah 12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son

One last thing from Matthew 24 - if this isn't the rapture - then please enlighten me...

Jesus tells us that the rapture will happen - while there is still a period of relative 'normalcy'..

He says like it will be as in the days of Noah - people were marrying , eating and drinking. Therefore up to this point there has been no great tribulation.

But suddenly the floods came - and took them away.

That is how it will happen - without warning:

Matthew 24:40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

----

Also, he doesn't say anything about the dead also being raised at this point....

39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

If you look at verse 39, you see the context. The coming of the Son of Man (the Second Coming).

Verses 40 and 41 pertain to the saved being caught up in the clouds with Jesus while the wicked are left behind to perish.

Verse 42 reiterates verse 39, pointing to the Second Coming.

This cannot be a rapture before the tribulation, if the context is the event of the Second Coming.

Then I checked it - and it was the lion shall eat straw like the ox....

I've long believed God could supernaturally change verses in the bible.

Man can't and shouldn't; but it's Gods manuscript - and like any writer he can change it any time he pleases; if it makes it easier to understand i.e. knowledge will increase :)

Matthew 24:39-42 KJV

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72596372

This is a huge point of controversy for many.

If you notice - Jesus does not touch the earth - as he does in his second coming.

Here's an article that points out the many differences:

What is the difference between the Rapture and the Second Coming?

Small excerpt:

1) At the rapture, believers meet the Lord in the air (1 Thessalonians 4:17). At the second coming, believers return with the Lord to the earth (Revelation 19:14).

What is the difference between the Rapture and the Second Coming?

Small excerpt:

1) At the rapture, believers meet the Lord in the air (1 Thessalonians 4:17). At the second coming, believers return with the Lord to the earth (Revelation 19:14).

I think these 2 verses in Matthew 24 show the difference:

The second coming is immediately after the great tribulation - so we know 3 1/2 years after the antichrist shows himself in the temple (to be god), we can anticipate Jesus return.

29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days...

30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

----

The rapture - or first returning - we have no idea when it will happen:

41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76691134

In both Micah 7 and Ezekiel 39 - God forgives the Israelis, and no longer hides his face from them:

Micah 7:18 Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage?

Ezekiel 39:28...I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more there.

29 Neither will I hide my face any more from them

Ezekiel 39:23 And the heathen shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they trespassed against me, therefore hid I my face from them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword.

24 According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions have I done unto them, and hid my face from them.

Actually, Up til now - it couldn't have happened because the technology didn't exist.

You couldn't see something happening on the other side of the world - this passage below makes no sense to anyone living in Jesus time.

Only we today can understand the technology it takes for this to happen:

Rev 13:9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall SEE their dead bodies three and an half days lie in the street. (KJV)

This says other people from other nations will SEE their dead bodies in the street.

The tech didn't exist for people to be in a FIELD or someone on a ROOF and both 'simultaneously' seeing something they should act on i.e. the antichrist STANDING in the temple.

Math 24:15 When ye therefore shall SEE the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:

18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

Question is - How are you going to SEE the antichrist stand in the temple from a field or rooftop without a mobile device?

-----

Will definitely succeed!!
