I'm certain we are very close.
Lately we've experience a tremendous falling away(apostasy) from the church,pope and governments in what were christian countries.
The pope is actually proclaiming God and Allah are the same.
Bibles are being rewritten using Allah in place of the word God.
Name of Jesus is being blotted out of history...
We can say without a doubt there is a global world order, and it's not too hard to imagine many crying out for a one world leader if we have a worldwide economic systemic financial collapse and people can't buy food i.e. Venezuela perfect example how it will play out.

Each of the verses in this list provides us with a wealth of information about the antichrist in and of themselves.
The first verse listed Dan 8:23 we learn that the antichrist does not appear until after the gog magog war, and the gog magog war happens before the great tribulation.
The second one that I am examining now - we know from 2 thes 2 he goes in the temple and declares he is god, but what we get from Dan 11:36 - he exalts himself above god, meaning
he thinks he is even superior than God.
