No Christian In Here Can Give An Accurate Definition of "Repent."
Just from reading their posts, it us apparent none of them understand that word. But, they still fling it around as if they do.

A real Christian will understand the first Command Jesus spoke in The Bible, "Repent." The really good Christians will also understand the Command given by The Greatest Prophet in The Bible, John the Baptizer, "Repent."

A far superior Christian will understand "Repent" to mean much more than simply giving up their previous urges for drugs, alcohol, extramarital sex, theft, lying, violence, and the such.

A really, really good Christian will understand "Repent" for exactly how Jesus and John the Baptizer meant it to be understood, rather than the Christian just making up some dimwitted explanation not found in The Bible so that they can sound Spiritual.

The most supremely righteous and well informed Christians will not speak of themselves or speak of their own experiences when they explain "Repent" as it was spoken by Jesus and John.

From what ive seen of that word its what ya have to do so god wont burn you alive in sadistic hate fuelled revenge obsessed horifically heartless merciless flames forever in the name of his love that never fails and with his mercy that endures forever and is new every morning.

Which is why it dosent mean anything because anything christians say is wither based around fear..death..torture..blackmail..or torture.

Never any love involved.

So when you hear the word repent...i automatically think hate..revenge..sadism..cruelty..torture.

Because thats whats associated with that word.

Repent means loving one another like one loves themselves. Yes, giving up the horrible habits and actions of a careless soul. You must love one another. We are all one.

Re: No Christian In Here Can Give An Accurate Definition of "Repent."
He whose name is that Salvation came saying first what is translated "Repent" and it is severely misused today. That word in His native tongue was ShUB related to SheBU -a captivating gemstone occurring amid pyroclastic rock called chalcedony- the word means RECONSIDER be turningabout orbiting, not NeKhaM which is 'retreating/ retracting /recanting'. Both of these words are rendered the same in the New Testament Greek as 'metanaeo' "change of mind" but Hebrew well differentiates these apparent in their context. A good look at Luke 13:3,5 "Not I say to you, but except you be-reconsidering, all likewise destroying-yourselves are" (equiv. transl.). Again 2 chapters away in 15:7,10 is another use of the word 'reconsideration.' It is the renewing of the mind which is salvation, and the sharing of this process called confession being its conveyance, an action taking place rather than a one-time-event. In this understanding we are 'being saved' in 'salvation' and 'shall-be saved' who are 'to-be saved' rather than 'have been' or 'was'. It is in redeeming the time living worthily that this happens.

The oldest word translated 'GOD' is the EL -an ancient ligature phase of early archaic "Hebrew" icon glyph found pecked and scratched in heavily patinated and wind eroded petroglyphs. It is the word "To/Toward" an Intention as 'meant to be' or 'inevitable' and always occurs directing movement or obstructing it, that being the glottal-stop pronunciation of an 'Aleph' -being bumped or interrupted- that's how we start reconsidering (the word ShuB “repent”).

Re: No Christian In Here Can Give An Accurate Definition of "Repent."
In Genesis it says that God was "repentant" over how evil the earth had become.

To me that means that he was deeply disappointed and regretful and then took action to eliminate the cause.

Being disappointed or regretful of your sin is being repentant. If you are repentant grace abounds as you attempt to turn away from sin. Turning away from sin is showing a "fear of the Lord".

If you are not repentant grace does not abound, this person has no fear of the Lord and no desire to overcome sin, so they live in it without remorse or regret.

In the quest for grace abounding on ones self, by being repentant, in time one can overcome sin.

If one struggles with sin but they are repentant does grace abound? Apparently as there are none without sin, not even one - other than Christ.

Why does the Bible say a person born again will sin no more... don't know. Somewhat a contradictory topic. I would say that means that if that person is repentant, their sin is not held against them.

"Repent" is a word thrown around by Christians who seek to judge others and command them to conform to their worldview.
