United Kingdom 10/22/2006 06:17 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've been looking at gluten free foods and have come across Quinoa.
Anyone know anything about it or used it?
I've got the basics of its nutritional value and am more interested in how you would use it, store it, cook it, and whether it's a good 'heritage' seed to keep for when/if patented GM wheat becomes the norm.
Also, in its natural state it's supposed to have a bitter seed coat so is it any use for malting and brewing without hops? |

Yup. I haven't done much research into growing it as I don't have interest in grain type crops but here is a link with some more info on it. [ link to chetday.com] There's a lot of info about it online. |

United States 10/22/2006 06:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have celiac disease, so I can't have gluten. THere are a couple of brands of quinoa pasta that are good. You can probably find some in a health food store. |
