Sounds like a muscle strain if the stiffness subsided after an hour. Did you hear any noise when it happened like a "pop" or a "crack"?

well, taking my cue from Bert, I'd suggest trying to lift something twice as heavy as the object that caused the problem, because as the old saying goes, 'what doesnt kill you makes you stronger'

she's waiting for job interviews this week, thats horrible if she cant recover very fast.

i felt okay when she started to walk, but i'm still worry.

i dont think bone issue will even let you move, so i hope it just muscle problem.

Yes, it well, but it hurts bad. If not broken, you live with the pain. Muscle and nerve pain, not good. Then have some falls to go with it, and you can enjoy the pain.

Just get them to a doctor and make sure they get help.

Re: lift something heavy and got hurt
If it's way down in lower back pelvis area that's where the spine sits in the pelvis bone. It's a very painful thing and you can barely walk. Always bend knees slightly when reaching arms out to lift anything to prevent it in the future.

Where the spine sits in the pelvis is a very tight fit with very little sway or movement allowed. But it does give some. But when you "throw out" your back down there, it gets immediately inflamed and will take a couple or 3 days of excruciating pain (can barely move or walk without hunched over) where you can barely sleep.

But it's not a matter of just getting yourself in the right position to "snap it back into place" or anything like that.

Re: lift something heavy and got hurt
I work out alot with heavy weights, as a general rule what helps me a lot with pain is an inversion table.

This will naturally stretch your entire body and joints.

But I would be cautious to suggest this, depending on the the person's pain. You would need to do an x-ray first, to be cautious.

they failed to use the knees

they bent over to pick something up

could be a pulled muscle but could be a ruptured disc though unlikely

tell then to stop picking up the wife lmao kidding

I was midget tossing my kids in the pool and ripped a hip flexor and an abdominal muscle. Shit sucks bad not being 20 years old anymore. Thought it was a damn hernia.

Been a week now and it's getting better.

Re: lift something heavy and got hurt
Here's some thoughts. I am a Blacksmith and move around a lot of fairly heavy objects, big Anvils of mine weigh several hundreds of pounds. I am now no spring chicken and have suffered a lot of injuries over the decades at this.

Rule #1 is to always engage your core when lifting even a penny. ALWAYS.

#2Cold, then hot then cold. Cold slows the inflamation which results in less scar tissue forming as part of the healing process. A mistake is to go hot first as it causes more blood to flow from the damaged blood vessels and makes healing take longer as well as other complications.
#3Learn about your body. We all are slightly different, but general rules do apply. You don't need an actual specimen skeleton for reference but it helps to know what the joints look like for visualization and understanding.
#4Lift first, then twist. Not as one action.
#5 learn to adjust your own back so you can set the joint back in place quickly after it goes out. But be careful, getting a "pop" might mean worse injury. You have to do it the right way. For example, the human spine generally has several curves, some inward, some out. It's complicated and a thrust one way on the lower back is good but thrusting the same direction elsewhere can make the misalignment much worse. Lower back and SI joint must be adjusted from front to back. I push into my own abdomen when my lower back is at all in question.
#6 find a chiro or doc who does not talk while adjusting. Hand and mouth do not work well together.

I have found Doan's back pills work well for me.

I hurt my lower back last year. Best the docs would do for me is prescribe some anti inflammatory.

I was in pain for about 2 months. It's something I hope to never experience again.
