How do I get period blood off a mattress?

Is there no way of salvaging the mattress? The stain is not that big and the mattress is not even that old, maybe 4 months old. I just can't get the pink colouring out.

Mattresses in the UK cost like the equivalent of about 220 dollars. Would it be so foul if I just turned it over?

1 large bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide
2 clean towels

Pour small amount of HO onto stain, dabbing it with corner of towel to ensure it soaks into mattress.

Once the stain is saturated continue to pour the HO gently onto the stain and allow it to thoroughly and deeply soak in, do this several times, dabbing & rubbing the stain after each application.

You can leave a puddle of HO on the stain, leaving it to bubble itself to exhaustion.

Place clean dry folded towel over it, pressing it down to absorb dampness.

Repeat until stain is gone, always using a clean/dry portion of towel.

Leave mattress uncovered (no bedding) until dry, a ceiling fan speeds up the drying process.

Works every time for organic stains...even blood, urine, red wine, coffee. I've done it on mattresses and rugs/carpets, white nursing shoes, scrub tops, etc.

For the Hydrogen Peroxide does the mattress need to be dry before applying it? It's still wet at the moment from the other stuff I've used.

I know it's not quite the same circumstances but when I got a lot of my girlfriends blood soaking through the mattress I rolled her up in it and tied it all together with string. That night I drove her to Epping forest and left her under as much loose leaf material as I could. After I made the tearful appeal for her return on the TV for the police, I went back to burn the mattress and re-bury the body.
