The ancients used stone not because they were primitive but because they knew it was the only thing that would survive the cataclysm
Anyone else think this? Most scientists would have you believe the people who built these massive stone structures and engraved in stone were ignorant primitive people and humanity followed a very strict singular progression starting just thousands of years ago.

But doesnt it make more sense that Humanity is far older and has reached a state of advanced technology many times only to have the slate wiped clean? Afterall life provides many hazards and from the day of our inception the clock is ticking to progress far enough to stop the cycle.

Its obvious a high technology was used to construct these monolithic structures. These people were smart, very smart and very far advanced. There were probably skyscrapers with all of our modern materials and more and high technology but all of that returned to the earth without a trace. They knew if they wanted future generations to know what happened and that they were there they would have to use stone. Its the only thing that survives eons of change and cataclysm.

Perhaps the truth finally starting to trickle out?

Here's another thought: perhaps the ancients had much longer lifespans than we do now. Like over 1,000 years.

From their perspective, a wood home would have to be rebuilt ten to twenty times over a lifetime. That gets real old, quick. It would be like you rebuilding your home every five to ten years.

Stone? Build it once and you pass it on to your children.

maybe the 'ancients' built with all types and its just the stone that is left now.

Interesting thought the only problem is there isnt enough stone buildings left around for that to have been a common practice within a populous, perhaps global society as widespread as our own today.

My perspective is they used stone because stones resonate, most pple think theyre dead lumps of nothing, quite the contrary, they have alot of life, if i could get my hands on a peice of pyramid stone, i bet you it would humm a rather interesting tune.

Maybe but from the structures that are left it doesnt appear they were made for habitation or that they used stone often or primarily for habitation. They seem like they were made specifically as a warning for the future or a shrine of the past for the future and of course to do that one would have to use stone. Theres just a handful of these sites dotted around the globe.

Exactly. Why massively over engineer a building out of solid prefabricated 85 ton stone blocks precision engineered with interlocking bevels, holes and extrusions quarried 6.5 and 56 miles away and drag them up a steep mountain to put them into place.

Advanced civilization tried to build some kind of bunker! And were afraid probably of a giant tusnami.

Exactly, i just think its ridiculous to think these people did all of this with camel hair ropes, sticks and mules and purely for some decorative/religious motivation. I think these things were created with advanced technology and for a great futuristic purpose and contain a lot of wisdom.

seriously, people are unaware that granite and the limestone that was used in ancient times wasn't cast?

we have don't countless tests on the rock and its without a doubt cast stone.

there was no dragging anything. they use the river to transport the crushed limestone directly in the waters.

they then used wood planks to form a mould and poured the limestone in, added some caustic soda and you have solid rock.

granite is easier, you just grind it up and mould it and it sets on its own.

how do people not know this by now?

those rocks from Bolivia are casting stones, as in they are the moulds for casting lead and copper and gold in. that's why each one is different. each one was used for a different task or shape of metal. more interestingly what were they making out of it (in metal)

Maybe thats true for the specific case youre talking about, however there are definitely many others which massive massive cut and quarried stones were dragged tens and tens of miles and up mountains and assembled with incredible precision and you want us to believe it was all done with camel hair ropes and sticks by ignorant primitive people who just came down from the trees. Sorry im not buying it. Many of these things cannot even be replicated today.

The 1200 ton stone at Baalbek always gets me

It's perfectly cut into a very specific shape, yet appears to be abandoned. Nobody seems to know who made it, what its purpose is, or how long its been there.

all the stones are cast.

if something couldn't have been done the way you describe today it couldn't be done the same way then.

if you cast one block next to the other block sharing one side of the block as the mould casing you would have exactly the precision you are talking about.

btw granite take a long time to set and so do other rock types without adding the catalyst caustic soda. you could spend weeks carrying one bucket of the liquid rock paste at a time up the mountain and pouring it into the mould.

no magic 1200 tone crane or alien spaceship needed.

That is one of MANY questions about the ancient civilizations that aren't ever publicly addressed either. There are some stone structures out there that are purely that. As in they use perfect geometry to balance the stones so they can be easily swung open or otherwise pivoted on their axis with a mere push of one's hand.

What you say just isnt true. Youre claiming every megalitihic ancient stone was cast. Are you deliberately lying or just extremely ignorant? And your second statement is based off mainstream assumption about who these people were following the rigid singular progression of humanity which is a fallacy.

I always thought Machu Pichu was built to survive a flood, high up in the mountains.

That is why it was abandoned, the waters receded and people could go back down the mountain...

It's not machine tooled.

From your link:
Some of the stones are in an unfinished state, showing some of the techniques used to shape them. They were initially pounded by stone hammers—which can still be found in numbers on local andesite quarries—, creating depressions, and then slowly ground and polished with flat stones and sand.
