Going ice fishing upstate NY with my dad

Cool. My dad and I used to go fishing, hunting, and camping all the time but now at 76 he's not up to it much...we went fishing a couple times last summer but I set him up a chair by our pond so that he doesn't fall in LOL...dad is a still a lot of fun and his mind is sharp.

I like stories like this.

I went Ice fhishing in Finland and Estonia last years... it was really nice experience but sadly I didn't catch anything :/

Catching fish is fun but not the purpose of fishing at all. The idea is to spend time with your family or friends while enjoying nature.

I tried ice fishing, but its not my game.....I'm more of a saltwater boat fishing kinda guy....BUT bonding with pops fishing is priceless....catching fish is just a bonus....memory making....

Update! Caught over 30 perch just Cooked some so yummy and little to no Mercury. Caught Pike, small mouth bass and large mouth! Awesome time with my dad, really got to bond with him which is something we haven't done in such a long time. For anyone who asks we were near lake Champlain and Plattsburgh

Indeed the experience was great ! And by great I meant spending time with friends and the GF. even having some hot coffee in the middle of an icy lake.

But the best part for me was to drill the hole ^^
