Quoting: EnceladusMy word. Nothing personal, but I am SO SICK of hearing this garbage. This is SO untrue. My son is in a "group" situation with other homeschoolers three times a week. He is on a soccer team, and in a choir. Home education groups have sports teams, proms, weekly socials, graduations, academic competitions, ETC. There is no "isolation" and home schooling is ANYTHING but boring for the students. ALL the kids I know that are home educated who have also had a stint in public or private school (Three of my own included in this) say that home educating is way more "fun" than the dumbed down experience they had in corporate school. Get educated yourself. All seen things are temporary. All unseen things are eternal. Take time and know that what you seek is like music; it sweeps you aloft so you are moving in glory among the stars. Take time to find the unseen." - A Wrinkle in Time |

Being home schooled gets boring after awhile, its isolation. it just plain sucks. Quoting: EnceladusYup, state controlled education is just fantastic. That's why you have to have stormtroopers hauling the little kids off to school, after threatening their parents with imprisoment. That's why American public school kids can barely spell their own names, and can't even find the state they live in on a map. That's why there probably isn't ONE publicly schooled kid in America that has read the United States Constitution, but they DO know all about that stupid Hollercost nonsense. Because state controlled education is so utterly fantastic. Current Communist Goal #17 "17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. We should'nt feel the need to isolate ourselves either - just because our standards dont reflect the ones we see out in public. We aren't so unique from one another. When you're ready to understand the balance required for a complete understanding of our nature on earth....then you'll understand how important it is to break free from your comfort zone. We are not separate. We are a network. Just as you have cells and organs in your body which cooperate to make a harmonious entity, all life on earth, all forms of life cooperate to make one body. Our individual health will contribute to the health of the whole. This is why the more open you are, the more willing you are to be loving and to serve. This comes from recognition that we are one being. It's no longer a question of giving. It's a flow - a flow from one cell to another for the health and maintenance of the whole organism. When I mention that home schooling sucks, then trust me, it sucks. You educate yourself. |

Plenty of social interaction, academic goals, and all I've known have done well in college. My own children included. Homeskool parents who make that choice becaue they are too lazy or too paranoid, could be a problem. No system of checks and ballance in place here. |

Murdering others is not part of our rhythm on this Planet. The experience itself is for those who seek such a choice and takes hold upon those individuals of self destructing habits.. Personality without Essence is suffering. Personality with attachment to Essence is a disaster. The personality can only perpetuate itself. The moment you try to do something, you're on the wheel of action and reaction which is what we call the wheel of samsara. Perhaps to you surrender means that you will engage in an activity. But the activity of the personality is a rejection, which is ultimately hope and desire, leading to frustration. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 158488 United States 10/25/2006 11:34 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | When you see that your focus on yourself, your separateness, your preoccupation with your personal life, are all barriers against the natural order of reality, you become more willing to be open and loving. There is no threat then about being generous. You see that generosity is our nature. There is no loss in letting go of your point of view, there is tremendous gain -- yet no self gains it. The gain is everyone's gain; the gain is for the universe. You will feel freedom, joy, fulfillment and happiness -- but these feelings are not for you to possess, they are for the universe. Whenever any human being loses his point of view, the entire human race benefits. The same with our education systems. Quoting: EnceladusDefinitely the spirit of Antichrist.....The Bible tells us "Ye be seperate", don't share in the sin and tolerance of evil. Homeschooling is AWESOME!!! I started a year ago with my 3 kids and it is the best thing I ever did. We will never go back to the "socialist agenda" public schools.....they are 7 hours of brainwashing and 3 hours of tedious and unnecessary "homework", so no family time. Just a great way to weaken families. |

All choices have consequences, choose wisely, CHOOSE WISELY. |

Someone said that Americans can't even spell their own name, and on another thread, someone said that American kids don't even know all the states. My child is gifted (has been in the program since she was 7) and goes to public school. So are alot of other children. She was reading at a 5th grade level in kindergarten. So my point is you don't have to be homeschooled to be intelligent. |
