Well, there you go. What an intelligent and thoughtful response - NOT.

My senator, DEMOCRAT, Debbie Stabenow, voted to take away habeas corpus. She voted for both PATRIOT Acts. Direct assaults on the Constitution. What part of that escapes your comprehension? Shall I give her my vote, and stamp of approval for taking away my fucking rights? All because she's a Democrat?

I would have responded to this thread had I seen it earlier.

Apologies to the OP, and thanks to those who are kindred spirits in wanting to change the direction of this country.

Unfortunately, it's late for me and I'm going to bed.

I will come back tomorrow and post, because I do not deliberately ignore someone when they take the time to ask a question.

Tomorrow, OP.

OP is correct, Democrats voted for the war along with the Repubs. I'm sick of both parties but the Democrats more so because they are a "fair weather" party--if things were going good in Iraq (which they aren't), they would be on every news outlet taking credit and sucking the oxygen out of the White House press room. Bush is really hurting the Repubs by saying he agrees with Americans in that he's not happy with the war.

Please do exercise your right to vote!
If the Republicans win the vote, who's to say they don't keep the same administration? Is that what you want?

I thought Polly was going to address these concerns of many of us who don't want to re-elect Democrats for fascism. Why the avoiding of this subject?

Again, would any of of you, after complaining about the totalitarian nature of this government, vote for the *very same people* who gave it to you???

What is pointless? Do you mean acknowledging the reality that we have a serious problem, in that the "opposition" party has conspired with Bush? If that's what you're saying, then I gather you mean that it's better to pretend this hasn't happened, and to go ahead and give our stamp of approval to people who have taken away our freedoms.

You are exactly right. The US has been in a STEADY slide into fascism, for a long time. It has not happened over night. I keep using that word, "fascist" because fascism is the combining of the state and business. All of these Democrats are corporatists. Fascism is also socialist, and they are socialists. They despise the Constitution just as much as their Republican counterparts. In both parties there are a few exceptions, but damn few.

As for Lebanon, democrats say nothing because they are ZIONISTS. Hillary Clinton, number one recipient of AIPAC/Mossad money. Rohm Emmanuel, Mossad. Lieberman, Mossad. Boxer, Feinstein, and on and on, all Zionists, and traitors to the US. The Zionist agenda is to destrot the US and take it over. They have made great inroads in both parties.

Report: AIPAC focus of fresh FBI probe

Time Magazine says Justice Department suspects improper ties between AIPAC and democrat congresswoman

Ynet Published: 10.21.06, 16:27

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is probing whether Congresswoman Jane Harman and the pro-Israel lobby AIPAC improperly cooperated to secure Harman is reelected as the top Democrat member on the House Intelligence Committee, the Time Magazine reports.

Crisis of Confidence

Pentagon denying Israelis security clearances / Ynetnews

New York Sun reports State Department citing AIPAC leak case as basis for denying employees with dual Israeli-American citizenship security clearances. In one case, government lawyers argued Israel was 'actively spying on United States' to justify withdrawing clearance from worker
Full Story

Sources told Time that the probe has been going on for months. The probe would try to determine whether Harman and AIPAC enlisted wealthy supporters to "lobby" House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi to reappoint Harman.

According to the sources, Israeli businessman Haim Saban is one of the wealthy individuals who lobbied for Pelosi on behalf of Harman. Saban contributed at least USD 3,000 to Harman's election campaign, congressional sources told Time.

Two senior AIPAC lobbyists are awaiting sentencing as part of an investigation that led to the suspension and imprisonment of former Defense Intelligence Agency official Lawrence A. Franklin, who pleaded guilty to having passed on classified intelligence to the two lobbyists.

AIPAC fired lobbyists Steven Rosen and Keith Weissman, who are accused of receiving classified information on terrorism and the Middle East from Franklin.

Harman: No knowledge of probe

The investigation will also attempt to determine whether AIPAC lobbied for Franklin to get a position at the National Security Council. According to the probe's findings, Franklin requested that AIPAC members "put in a good word" for him at the NSC in exchange for the documents he relayed to them. AIPAC, on its part, considered such an appointment to be beneficial for the organization, as it would put Franklin in a position close to the president, and said that they would do their best on the matter, the FBI claimed.

Harman's attorney told the Time that: "(Congresswoman Harman) is not aware of any such investigation, does not believe that it is occurring, and wanted to make sure that you and your editors knew that as far as she knows, that's not true... . No one from the Justice Department has contacted her."

A spokesman for AIPAC, has also denied any wrongdoing by the group and stressed that it is not taking sides in regards to the committee assignment. Spokespersons for Justice and the FBI declined to comment.

Re: Pollyannuh, I'm calling you out
Discussion in Congress quickly widened beyond Israel to include a broader policy of confrontation toward the entire Middle East. Congressmen sent a flurry of "dear colleague" letters to one another, hoping to pressure the Administration into tightening sanctions on Syria and Iran, Hezbollah's two main state sponsors. Former Middle East envoy Dennis Ross addressed a packed AIPAC-sponsored luncheon on the Hill, where, according to one aide present, Ross told the room: "This is all about Syria and Iran ... we shouldn't be condemning Israel now." Said Representative Robert Andrews, a Democrat from New Jersey and co-chair of the Iran Working Group, which this week hosted an official from the Israeli embassy: "I concur completely with that approach."
Democrats, as they did during the Dubai ports scandal, used the crisis to score a few cheap, easy political points against the Bush Administration. The new prime minister of Iraq, Nouri al-Maliki, found himself engulfed in a Congressional firestorm after he denounced Israel's attacks on Lebanon as an act of "aggression." Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee chair Rahm Emanuel, who volunteered in Israel during the first Gulf War, called on Maliki to cancel his planned address before Congress. Asked Senator Chuck Schumer, who skipped Maliki's July 26 speech: "Which side is he on when it comes to the war on terror?" Howard Dean one upped his colleagues, labeling Maliki an "anti-Semite" during a speech in Palm Beach, Florida.

AIPAC continues to enjoy deep bipartisan backing inside Congress even after two top AIPAC officials were indicted a year ago for allegedly accepting and passing on confidential national security secrets from a Defense Department analyst. "The US and Israel share a lot of basic common values. The vast majority of the American people not only support Israel's actions against Hezbollah but also the fundamental US-Israel relationship, and the bipartisan support in Congress reflects that," says AIPAC spokesman Josh Block. Rosenberg, himself a former AIPAC staffer, puts it another way: "This is the one issue on which liberals are permitted, even expected, by donors to be mindless hawks."

Re: Pollyannuh, I'm calling you out
O.P., in addition to the voter having what we term a "6 year itch" (some people just naturally want change in leadership), I need to remind you that the disgust and outright anger towards bush, his administration, and the Republican congresscritters due to this administration's policies goes right into the Republican base to a point many have not seen for a very, very long time. When that happens, it really doesn't matter, does it, the reasons why we should vote Democrat, but I'll give you some of the thoughts I've had, and of my friends. Some of whom are Republican, none of whom are allowing their emotions or party affiliation to at wage war with better judgement.

Ethics. Republicans have been in office for so long, the sleezy side keeps popping up. Democrats appear to be less sleezy right now.

Scandals. Same thing. Every time we turn around there's another Republican scandal resulting in the hasty resignation of a congresscritter.

Immigration. Republicans have had a very LONG time in the majority to stem the flow of illegals into our country. They offer a measly 700 mile fence at the last minute before the elections for a 2100 mile border.

Abortion. Again, if the Republicans were going to do something about abortion in this country, they've drug their feet for 6 years on this issue.

I'm personally tired as are millions of others regards the lies that come out of this White House. Even the stinking press conferences are full of lies, and no, don't ask me to be specific. You know as well as I do.

Iraq. Yeah, Democrats voted for this war, BUT based on what bush told them. We all know he had plans to get Saddam long to avenge his Daddy. He hyped everyone else up and they bought into his lies, too. Those brave souls who tried to tell the truth were removed, remember???

If we don't agree with bush's policies then we MUST remove those who rubber stamp them for him in Congress. bush may have gotten away with duping reps and senators on the war, but he hasn't duped any Democrats since then, has he?

We have GOT to stop the politics of fear. The Republicans are using terror as a campaign tactic and as a method to raise bush's approval rating when needed. That's enough of that bushchit. Democrats don't use fear, O.P.

Whether you want to realize it or not, many people will be motivated by dissatisfaction and angst for the Republicans rather than by enthusiasm for the Democrats. It's time for a centerist approach to US problems and the Republicans are incapable of finding a middle to the road.

So....I could continue writing but it wouldn't make one iota difference to you because your mind is already made up.

I only responded because I keep my word.

Vote Democrat or please stay home.

I never even touched on the contagious paranoia that bush used to get the Patriot Acts signed into law nor did I address illegal wiretapping bushchit.

We're on a slippery slope, O.P.

As I said before we already know what a Republican majority along with collusion from the Democrats can do to our country.

Let's reverse it and see what happens.

If we continue this dark slide then it was ordained or too late to stop it.

If we somehow climb out of this morass, the Democrats will be the ones to do it.

Yes, I do know as well as everyone. I agree, there is no reason to be specific, when in general, it's ALL lies. That said, it seems you're perfectly comfortable with lies, as long as they come from Democrats.

When you push the agenda of the Zionist backed, war mongering "opposition" party, you reinforce the BIGGEST LIE OF ALL, the lie meant to scam the American people into a constant state of Orwellian false dichotomy. There is NO difference between the war monger Hillary, and her Republican counterparts. There is no difference when Rahm Emanuel is payed off by the Mossad, than when a Republican is. IT IS ALL THE SAME AGENDA.

And, I remind you, that prior to 9/11, there was another indide job, orchestrated to pass the Anti Terrorism Crime Bill, the precursor of the PATRIOT Act, railroaded through by Bill Clinton and Janet Reno. That inside job was the Oklahoma City bombing. That was the first manipulated "terror" event, used to take away freedom. Yet this is the party that you insist people vote for, or stay home.

Anyone who complains about loss of liberties, who supports the very people who conspired to take those liberties away, lacks integrity. You're "good Germans". Though you may not like a particular party, by deliberately ignoring and obfuscating the truth about the phony opposition, you are a party to the overall fascist agenda.

Unless people WAKE UP to this lie, the lie of manufactured opposition, meant to lull the sheep, and start voting third party, we are doomed. To continue to deny that the two party system is a dog and pony show, is to keep dancing from the strings of the puppet masters. This is how the NWO/Illuminati work. Re: Pollyannuh, I'm calling you out
Oh, good, you're the O.P., I just checked. Wanted to be certain I'm speaking with the author of the thread.

A.C. 147938, you don't know me in the "real" world. I've worked on Democratic campaigns from local to the national, and held public office myself.

I can tell you beyond the shadow of a doubt that there is little to NO DIFFERENCE between the two parties. It's all smoke and mirrors. I wish I had the time to give you details regarding just a simple thing like drafting a position paper or a platform. The mechanics are seen only by those close to the candidate or incumbent, and I can tell you this, it's always what YOU want to hear.

Several years ago I had my own personal revelation when I came to the understanding of the small differences which seperate the two party system.

There are common factors. Lust for power, control, and greed. Personal anomosities run a close second. Appearances are kept up to cloak the candidates for one reason. Votes. Sadly, there are far too few people invovled in the political realm who are idealistic and see issues in black or white. IT IS ALL A JOKE. On us.

That being said, acknowledging what I personally know, have seen first hand, I still say we have to choose between "staying the course", which, in my opinion, will drive America to it's knees, financially and socially, if we allow the course we are on to continue, or trying the Democrats, warts and all to see if the situation can be rectified. We cannot sustain the depths of polarization that bush and this administration has bought us to in this country.

I hope I don't have to go through everything in order for you to understand the vast disparity between the haves and the have-nots, the differences in the public domain between Democrats and Republicans, red states and blue, between those who feel totally disenfranchised and those who blindly follow the party machine. I think you know what I'm talking about.

We have to stop the life-blood of our Country from running dry. We have to stop dredging up the past (we should, however, LEARN from it) and finger-pointing at each other as the crux of all our woes.

This will not happen unless and until the current administration is out of office and we are allowed to heal. IF we can still heal.

I have never, ever seen our country torn apart as it is today.

Sadly, we do not have viable third-party candidates across these United States in the numbers needed to succeed this year. Unfortunately, it will be a very long time before we do. However, the Democrats are NOT in power right now, but they can be a bone of contention to the worst president in the history of the United States. IF we elect a majority.

I'm willing to do what an old timer once told me to do when confronted with a situation like this.

I'm going to hold my nose and vote straight Democrat. I want others to do the same.

Otherwise, A.C., there may not be a country to save in two years.
