It is a seperation of timelines into two parallel realities after you go past the ability to apply thought to the information which is presented to our brains via our senses. The timelines won't ever fuse, for once the older you is starting to speed up to get to your timeline "lap/round" he will simply create an older version of himself which he will then visit.
