Thousands of demonstrators are holding a rally against the annual Academic Ball in Vienna, and have gathered near the Imperial Palace where the event takes place. The ball is held by the far-right Freedom Party of Austria (FPOe), which stands against immigration.
Last year protesters opposed to the annual Viennese Academics Ball clashed with police, as they tried to block access to the ball.
