Last poll before the Caucus shows Rand Paul in first with young voters

They problem is that young voters, might like Rand, but will not turn out to vote for him or anyone else.
As far as Nationally, which is what really matters, he does not stand a chance.

He's the best chance the Republicans have against Hillary. He will secure the base ad attract independents. None of the others can do both of these.

The college kids are back from break and I think they will turn out in droves. We will know in just a few hours! His Iowa recipe can be used Nationally if it works!

I agree completely. People are truly tired of the government sticking its nose in everything. The Rand Paul message is loud and clear - less government, less spending.

Trump, Rubio, and Bush won't secure the base. People will stay home. Cruz can't attract independents.

I think you mean his father who was opposed to the VAT. His son is not anything like him otherwise he would not be pushing such invasive business VAT legislation.

Rand is about getting the federal government out of the marijuana control business. Leave it up to the states to decide. Prohibition didn't work for alcohol and it hasn't worked for weed.

Which is fine yet little do they realize they will be hurt the most with his VAT.

His business activity tax replaces a very high corporate tax and allows for immediate deduction of capital expenses. No more depreciation schedules. This would encourage capital spending during profitable years and further stimulate the economy.

That said, I would like to see it allow a deduction for wages and salaries. That's kind of a big deal, but it is still the best plan I've seen presented by any of the candidates.

Kinda think one of the more telling statistics from that poll is that 98% of the respondents were white.

Guess that's about right since 92% of the population in Iowa is white.

Yet it is punitive on poor people since without any income or low income since they will see a tax increase on everything they purchase.

It is surprising since Ron Paul is the kind of candidate that was appealing to the segment of those living living off-grid, living off the land - homesteading, unemployed and living off savings.

His son however with his business VAT specifically hurts those groups the most. This is why his father was dead set against any sort of VAT. Rand is nothing like his father.

I think that Trump should have Rand Paul run with him as Vice President. He could Be his Government apprentice and we can get the country straightened out twice as fast.

What exactly did I say is "misinfo"? I am not denying it is a boon to the wealthy. It is however a fact that it raises the cost of items at retail which hurts the low income and poor the most.

Elimination of the payroll tax means nothing to those not paying payroll tax or paying very little. Like I said it hurts those that opt out of the system the most.

Therefore it is a fact those living off savings, homesteaders, off-grid folks, the unemployed and poor are hurt most by it.

But wouldn't the elimination of the corporate tax would have a countering effect to keep the cost of goods down? Either way, a drastic change is needed and this is a step in the right direction, even if changes would be needed in the future.

I'm sure there's plenty of that going on in every generation. One thing that's really waking these younger adults up I believe is our current foreign policy. The idea of going to war in the middle east is sobering to many.

Rand Paul is the only candidate with a foreign policy plan that would not lead to greater tensions in the middle east and the world at large. Paul is the only sane one in the running.

Rand absolutely believe he can win or he wouldn't be wasting his time. I think he can win and that's why I started this thread. Your siphon vote theory is just the ramblings of a trumptard unless you have some facts to back it up.

Trump is a statist who will destroy this country. Trump loves the Patriot Act and the surveillance state. Trump wants to turn our attention away from the root of the problem (the FED). Trump represents everything that Rand is fighting against.
