Corporate greed and government corruption
Though I do relate to certain of Bernie's 'arguments', I can't help but deeply distrust the notion that government mandates will properly fix the prevalent issue of corporate greed and inaccountability.
The corporate elite's lobbying of various levels of the government, including virtually all branches, is unlikely to fade away just by a few 'mandate' proposals that amount to little in the long run.
Also, the Occupy Wall Street types who argue that feds are the lesser of both evils... Doesn't change the grim reality that an oversized government is no different than an unaccountable Wall Street in that both are organized structures of individuals who are easily manipulated and swayed by power and profit... The government is not a machine. As human beings, we are easily corruptible, it is a sad truth... This is why communism (and even socialism) is ultimately destructive to the working poor who have no means to defend themselves while the highest end of the power structure is immune to consequence of any sort.
