Look up Recapture Canyon BLM and you will see how BLM handles citizens who take artifacts. Daniel P. Love of Bundy Standoff fame handled this case and there was a lot of heavy criticism.

Back in the early 1980s I was told by an archaeologist in 4 Corners that pot hunters could get up to $150,000 for a good pristine Native American pot. Think what just a stone pestle would go for now. A decent arrowhead goes for $55 - $65.

Because I see more than just artifacts he also says if the native people have a stake in the land they can open communications for that as well. This is particularly interesting because yesterday there was an article somewhere where they were saying the native tribe did not want them there but also it went into detail about how the government screwed them over.

The Feds did not lie about the Piute's Artifacts, they have an agreement with the Piutes to keep the Artifacts at the Malheur Wildlife Refuge, so the Piutes know the Artifacts are there. Get your facts straight.

The Piutes have been upset that LaVoy Finicum nosed into and rifled through the artifacts. It's BS that they haven't been touched, they were touched by Finicum.

And it's interesting that Finicum seemed to have picked up a Native American Curse on him for doing so. One thing that you do not do, you do not disturb or disrupt Native American Artifacts. So it looks like Karma is a bitch after all.
