"Talented and Gifted (TAG)" student in late 70's & early 80's in Portland ....

There's been one epic thread dedicated to the subject of being in a "gifted" student program... the similarities in our experiences and in what few memories are coming to surface.

I'd rediscovered this foum (GLP) after being away for awhile, and stumbled on to the "gifted program" thread almost immediately. Still only on page 93 reading through it.

For months before finding my way back to GLP, I'd been attempting to discuss the disturbing memories and dreams and feelings I was having related to my involvement with my elementary and middle school "TAG" programs with my husband, who also was involved in the same program in the same city (Portland Oregon), during the same years... just different schools.

He has and remains extremely uncomfortable talking about it... particularly anything to do with OMSI (especially the plane out front and the planetarium)... he is scary smart, high !Q, all that. but he's in disassociation mode while I, on the contrary, am attempting to fill in the blanks and learn more about what I've been exposed to... what I've been through.

Does anyone else have memories, or, (as the case is for me and quite the majority of former gifted program alumni), "NON-memories, holes in memories, or disturbing feelings evoked where there is no clear memory to explain the emotion?

I dream about this stuff all the time....
