Boston Marathon shootout recreation will not be filmed in the neighborhood where it happened even though 88% want it filmed there.
Earlier this week, location scouts were out surveying Laurel Street, the scene of the shootout with the Tsarnaev brothers.

Town officials now say filming the scene in the neighborhood would not be in the “best interest of Watertown.”

Officials in Watertown, Massachusetts, have announced that they will not allow the shootout with the Boston Marathon bombers to be recreated for "Patriots' Day," an upcoming film about the terror attacks.

Residents were asked to take part in a survey regarding their thoughts of the production. Of the responses, 88 percent were allegedly positive, but because there were some concerns from some residents, they'll now film elsewhere.

Boston Marathon Bombing Movie Seeks to Recreate Watertown Shootout

Producers of a Mark Wahlberg movie about the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing want to recreate the police shootout with the Tsarnaev brothers in the Watertown neighborhood where it happened.

Homeowners have been told they will be compensated for any intrusion into their property, although no homeowners we spoke with today had been told exactly what that compensation would be.

Why are they going to create a fake scene for this when 88% of the residents were for this being done and they were even going to compensate those involved?
