Parents were sold they myth that if they protested, it would play into the hands of the gun manufacturers.

And in fact admitting most children could have survived WOULD play into the hands of the gun manufacturers, because a "lone man with an assault rifle" was not in fact single-handedly responsible for the instant death of 26 people as falsely claimed.

But if the parents had had time to see the whole picture--that saving lives is a far bigger question than simply examining a particular weapon--they'd have instead argue for the full set of Sandy Hook facts to be made known, so that the tragic errors of that day would not be repeated at the next mass shooting or mass casualty incident.

But when your child has just died and you've got Sedensky's smooth-talking lawyers cooing about how these parents owed it to the children of the future to stay strong and stay silent--of course most are going to go with the flow.

I bet not all did, though.
