Fact is, Trump doesn't offer any policy or idea that the other candidates don't share. Its just his presentation that appeals to so many. People think he is 'stronger' or 'more capable'. The general feeling is that only Trump can make the rest of the world respect us again. Only Trump can make us 'win'. That's where the authoritarian inclinations come in.

Its a slippery slope for sure.
