wow very nice. I got mine a couple of years ago and I remember debating about if I should get it in black/grey shading or color. well obviously you know which I one I chose.

In high school I was friends with a girl who was very toxic, and when I began digging myself out of depression I cut her out of my life and didn’t speak to her for a year.

We had a very close relationship while we were friends, but for an entire year we never spoke a word to each other, not even a ‘hello’ when we passed each other in the hallways at school.

Then, one day, she texted me, inviting me to one of her parties she held every year. I didn’t want to go, considering I knew nobody who was going and we weren’t friends anymore, but I wanted to get away from my parents for a night, so I forced myself to go.

The party, unexpectedly, was very exciting and adventurous, and somehow I ended up being one of the last to leave the party.

She and I were in the pool together striking up a conversation for the first time in a year. While conversing I realized that she changed in a years time and was now a much happier person.

“It’s late, I better get going,” I had told her while stepping out of the pool.

“Awe really? Okay, well thanks for coming!” she smiled, throwing me a beer and I (surprisingly) caught it.

“Of course. Thanks for inviting me. Honestly, I didn’t think you would.”

“Jane, I know our friendship ended badly, but you’ll always be one of the best friends I’ve ever had.”

“Hey can I tell you something?” She had nodded and I continued, “I’m really proud of how far you’ve come, and if you ever need anything I’ll always be here for you.”

Two days later she was texting and driving on a bridge, hit a car at a fast speed, and her car fell off the bridge with her still inside of it. She didn’t survive the crash.

It was very painful attending her funeral, but I am very lucky my last words to her weren't “I don’t want to be friends anymore,” and instead more kind, heartfelt, and honest.

As a medical examiner I have seen an unbelievable amount of pain; in my patients who have passed in such horrific ways, and in the family members of the ones who have passed.

I do not believe life is meant to be full of suffering.

I have performed autopsies on murder victims of all ages, accidental deaths that happened horrendously, and unexpected deaths of children while their parents spend the rest of their life suffering.

Though there will be points in life where we suffer, cry, and bottle our emotions, this is not all that life is. There is much more to life than pain and suffering.

Yes! Although I am not a surgeon, I am a doctor who made average (sometimes even below average) grades in high school.

I didn’t start making above average grades until college, and even then my grades were never amazing, but something I did have was determination and the will to work hard to get to where I needed to be.

You don’t need to be an absolute genius to be a doctor, you need to work hard and focus on your goals, while maintaining the excitement and love for the field you are going into.

In high school, when I worked fast food, I had a manager who was very cruel to me, though I never understood why. Usually I ignored her rude comments, but there was one day I had a major headache and couldn’t take her c*ap anymore, so I talked back (admittedly I shouldn’t have).

A work friend and I were talking about our hook-ups, when she came over, overhearing the conversation, and said to me, “you’re such a slut!”

A couple of days before the incident, I had heard her talking to one of her friends on how she wanted to sleep with her boyfriend but he wasn’t sleeping with her. I shouldn’t have been listening, but I heard her say, “nobody will sleep with me!”

So, my epic comeback. After she called me a slut I said, “well, at least I’m getting some.”

I was going to say ‘it takes one to know one,’ but I figured to go the other way, and thankfully I did. After that she never bothered me again!

I can fluently speak and write in English, French, and Thai - and I love it!

I am a native English speaker, so I mostly “think” in English, but often times I do catch myself thinking in French and Thai. When it comes to travel and food I tend to think in French, but when it comes to thinking about one of my best friends who lives in Thailand, I think in Thai.

Oddly enough, I am known to talk to myself when I am thinking deeply. When I talk to myself I often talk in Thai to keep up with the language since I do not know many others around me that speak Thai.

Being able to speak three languages has been a blessing in my life. I am able to freely communicate with people I would have never been able to communicate with before, and it’s opened my mind to wanting to learn many more different languages.

Though everybody is apt to interrupt somebody every once in a while, interrupting somebody every time they talk is a little disrespectful.

Even if he knows what you are going to say, I am positive he does not know what you’re going to say every time you open your mouth to speak. He is not a mind reader, you are not a mind reader, nobody can read minds.

If this bothers you, I would suggest you sit down and have a talk with him (and of course, ask him to not interrupt you when you state what worries you).

Back in middle school I sat next to a guy in my math class who was very arrogant and rude to teachers, but for whatever reason he was very kind to me.

We had to work on a project together near the end of the year, and up until that point I thought he was pretty rude to authority, but never really questioned it since he was always kind and welcoming to me, always asking me how I’m doing, offering me a piece of gum, etc, even though we’ve never really held a conversation.

When I began to discuss how the project would be laid out I noticed him watching me in a rather uncomfortable way, and when we talked about the project he began dissing it and started asking me personal questions - like where I lived, what I ate for breakfast, odd things.

Since the project I had an eerie feeling about him.

Thankfully we had ended up going to different high schools.

In my sophomore year of high school (grade ten) I heard a group of girls in one of my class talking about a boy we had all went to middle school with being arrested, so of course I decided to join in on the conversation and asked who had been arrested and why.

The boy that I had sat next to in the middle school math class, as I learned, had been in a gang since the eighth grade. He was making a drug deal and supposedly the supplier had ripped him off, so he pulled out a gun and shot him. (The details are foggy, I apologize. What I do remember is that he had killed somebody and was arrested the next morning).

This was a complete surprise to me, since he had always been kind, even though I had an odd feeling about him.

This is an intriguing post! I had NO idea men liked headbands! I wore one in grade school but not much since then. I may have to consider one, now that my hair is getting longer...

If you mean the slender faces and more bony look and narrow noses etc. That isn’t “white”, it just happens that many Europeans also have those features.

Though these are native to north eastern Africa, Remember there is huge genetic variation within Africa. Ancient skulls in east Africa show these traits are endemic to these people, so trying to retroactively claim it’s a “white” trait is being pretty disingenuous.

The original Japanese natives also have very narrow noses and they had big beards and narrow faces (all features that would correlate somewhat with Hitler’s Aryan standard).

Though they have no genetic relation to Europeans at all, and are related to eastern Siberians and also a slight relation to some south east Asian ancient groups.

That is a Jomon skull there, and these people mixed with ancient Korean farmers to make modern Japanese. Notice how quite a few modern Japanese also have slender features and look a bit different to Koreans, it’s because of this Jomon DNA in them.

Also the so called “Caucasian” type trait actually over in the western hemisphere exists more strongly in western Asia (Persians, Jews, Arabs etc) than the original native Europeans.

It’s the mixture from western Asia into Europe why southern and western Europeans have this “Caucasian” type look and are more hairy than northern Europeans.
