Ummm, according to atheists there is no one to punish sin, except for other people. So as long as you're rich and powerful you can pretty much do whatever you want.

Religion values life. You cannot do whatever you want and assume you will live to repent. You cant fool an omniscient God.

There is much more to religion than the prosperity cult that has consumed much of the evangelical Christian movement.

I do know something of the value of the Abrahamic western religions in the development of mu society and culture. Religion has been badly abused, and it has been misused, to control the oppressed of the earth but it has also had its place in the evolution and advancement of Western society and culture. We would not be who we are without Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

There are many fine people whose individual lives have been shaped and supported by their religious adherence.

There is good reason for atheists, like myself to mourn that our reason and our wisdom has removed us from the many benefits of religion, including the religious valuation of individual life.

In life, anything is possible. Of the all the possibilities, many things are probable and many things are improbable. Very few things are provable. The existence of God, as described in the bible, is improbable at best. Atheist do not claim to have all the answers, they are simply honest enough to admit it.

but i choose not to compare that explanation to the value that life holds.

the difference between us (belief system)is subtle really.

the only difference is your faith is based on intelligent design. that the small things happened via strict intentional design.

but, the way that i see it is, all these sequences of events happened mathematically and systematically, one by one, through trial and error until we arrive to where we are today. and we are continuing to evolve.

the 0.000000001 chance of life happening in the way that we know it makes it that much more valuable.
